As a long-time fan of Miranda Lambert, I have witnessed her unapologetic and bold personality shine through in many of her performances. Her recent actions at the Under the Big Sky festival in Montana were a testament to her commitment to creating a positive and enjoyable concert experience for her fans.
Miranda Lambert’s patience with disruptive concertgoers is wearing thin.
At Montana’s Under the Big Sky festival on Saturday, the lead singer of “Gunpowder & Lead” took a break from her headlining show to intervene when a group of fans seemed to be getting into a fight.
She replied, “Your head seems to be facing the wrong direction – it’s this way instead.” Pointing to herself. “If you wanted to drop by, I suggest you go elsewhere. But if you came to enjoy some country tunes, share some beers, and cause a ruckus, we’re doing that tonight.”
“Have we resolved this issue now? Is the disagreement among you over, specifically that group?” she emphasized, gesturing towards them. “Conflicts are not acceptable. It’s often the women who lose control. Let’s applaud for peace, shall we? I’ll give it some time.”
During Lambert’s speech at the Montana event, the audience appeared to encourage her with frequent applause. However, once clips from the event made it to TikTok, the reactions turned mostly unfavorable.
“If I use my own funds for attending a show, I can choose to take a nap if I feel the need to do so; why should that concern her?”
“Miranda Lambert, the way you behave at concerts is becoming repetitive and outdated to me. Every time you call someone out on stage feels overused.”
Representatives for Lambert did not reply immediately Wednesday to The Times’ request for comment.
At her June 29th show in Midland, Texas, Lambert had criticized fans from the stage earlier. Notably, this happened while she was performing her heartfelt ballad “Tin Man,” much like an occurrence in July 2023’s episode and another one.
She warned the crowd, “Is everyone arguing during this song? I’d rather not get involved if that’s the case. Let’s keep things peaceful here today. I’d appreciate it if you could help me remove anyone causing trouble.”
A few days have passed, and Lambert playfully uploaded a video on Instagram, indicating the right moments for engaging in a fight while performing.
She welcomed fighting at her concerts, declaring, “Go ahead and give it your best shot: ‘Fastest Girl in Town,’ ‘Kerosene,’ ‘Little Red Wagon,’ ‘Wranglers,’ and ‘Gun Powder & Lead’ are the songs where you can let it all out. However, please hold off during ‘Tin Man.’ That’s not the right moment.”
On Friday, Lambert unveiled her new track “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore,” destined for inclusion in the forthcoming movie “Twisters.” This song comes after the releases of her previous singles “Wranglers” and “Dammit Randy.”
