Miranda Lambert reveals shock family death of look-alike bandmate in emotional tribute

During a heartwarming performance in Miami over the weekend, country music star Miranda Lambert paid tribute to a fellow band member who was going through a tough time by sharing an emotional tale of love and support.

The acclaimed singer, aged 41, who’s currently on tour as an opener for Morgan Wallen, shared an intimate experience she had with one of her crew members.

Last Sunday, my friend and backup singer Gwen Sebastian shared the sad news that she had lost her father. This was expressed through a touching message that she posted online.

Last night, I left my belt behind, but luckily she mentioned she’d brought an extra one – it turned out to be hers, and it even had her father’s name on it. She shared this as a fortunate occurrence.

It was a privilege to don that [piece] in Miami last night, and I adore you, Gwennie! Here are some pictures, including one where we both wore the belt together and another where we shared the microphone on stage. ❤️

According to his obituary, Gerald Sebastian was an accomplished musician among other talents. 

As a devoted follower, I too have heard insights from friends acquainted with Sebastian’s father, regarding their understanding of his assistance from beyond the physical realm.

‘Gerald is smiling down at y’all,’ wrote the sister duo Tigirlily Gold.

‘Long live the memory of Gerald,’ said artist Caylee Hammack.

‘He put the “Gerald” in “Geraldene” last night. love this!!’ wrote a fan. 

A different way of saying it might be: ‘It feels truly special to don the belt bearing his name, alongside my father. My thoughts go out to @gwensebastian; I believe he’s very much present with us in spirit.’

Earlier this year, some of Lambert’s fans expressed opposition when she announced that she was going to perform as a guest on Wallen’s “I’m The Problem” tour.

In 2021, the artist known as The Whiskey Glasses found himself in unfavorable media attention following an incident where he was recorded using a racially offensive term after a night out drinking with friends.

In April 2024, the artist known for “Spin You Around” was apprehended for hurling a chair from the rooftop of a Nashville pub. Subsequently, he admitted guilt for two lesser charges related to reckless behavior.

He was sentenced to two years of parole and seven days of DUI education.  

In March, he made news by walking off stage prematurely following his act on Saturday Night Live.

As a devoted follower, I shared a picture of a private aircraft on social media, stating that it was my means to reach the land where God dwells. Later, I clarified that I was simply yearning for the comforts of home, as reported by NBC News.

It seems that everything has been pardoned, as fans showed their excitement when Lambert uploaded a video of her and Wallen performing a duet of his song “Cowgirls” on the 30th of June.

Through her platform, Lambert is aiding the victims of the recent devastating Texas floods, particularly our four-legged friends, by means of her charity organization called Mutt Nation.

‘I felt compelled to post here and express our deep sorrow over the floods in south and central Texas. I find it hard to put into words the pain everyone is experiencing. As the singer behind Mama’s Broken Heart, this tragedy really hits home.’

The MuttNation Foundation is currently collaborating closely with Kerrville Pets Alive to gather information about the needs of the local pet community and their owners during this disaster. As details become available, we will share them, but for now, I’ll provide any updates that I can.

She subsequently urged supporters to join forces with them and offer assistance whenever possible, while continuing to send their prayers. Additionally, she assured them that she would keep everyone updated.
