Miranda Hart reveals her shock over sitcom being branded 'misogynistic' and addresses her choice to not have children in new memoir

As a long-time admirer of Miranda Hart, I find her journey and experiences deeply inspiring. Her courage to push against societal norms and be unapologetically herself is something that resonates with me on a personal level.

Miranda Hart has spoken candidly about the unexpected wave of misogyny she encountered following the success of her popular TV show.

As a lifestyle expert, let me share my perspective: I was taken aback when a reporter labeled one of my performances as misogynistic, as I strive to portray a character who is unabashedly authentic, navigating her journey through life and seeking her place in the world. My intention was never to offend or belittle women, but rather to showcase a strong and relatable female character.

In her latest memoir titled I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You, Miranda openly admits that she shares a desire with many – not wanting to conform to the ordinary. She also discusses her personal choice of not having children.

The star explained: ‘I can remember being confused when a female journalist called the show misogynistic.’

She described how she had created a character who ‘wore her heart on her sleeve’ and was sharing ‘how difficult it was to be herself in a world that told her she didn’t really match up or have a place.’

Miranda added, “I didn’t get why that other lady didn’t share the same sentiment or at least acknowledge how unfair it is to make anyone feel bad about their appearance, feelings, or identity.

In response to being labeled as ‘typical’, Miranda likewise spoke about her decision to remain childless and unmarried in the traditional sense, by the age of thirty-five.

If it’s typical to be in a relationship by the age of 35, and not having kids is often seen as unusual, then I prefer to decline. There are numerous ways to play the role of a nurturer.

‘And I would never settle just to be in a couple’.

In her discourse about shunning cosmetics and keeping up with fashion, she expressed that she prefers a more organic look and is content to step out wearing socks, Crocs, and a kaftan in public.

In a playful manner, she quipped that unlike many others who find gym memberships ordinary, she humorously stated, “My life doesn’t necessitate a chiseled abs to function optimally.

The star summed up: ‘If being ordinary means conforming, then I kindly decline, as I believe true normality is rare and perhaps non-existent.’

Previously, Miranda had chosen not to disclose her romantic situation. However, it is now verified that she has indeed found her soulmate.

This year, it was discovered that the celebrity quietly tied the knot with a gentleman she encountered while on lockdown, who happened to be the one repairing mold in her £2 million property in Hammersmith.

A buzz was created when she posted a picture of a golden wedding band on her Instagram a week ago, and now, the comedian has surprisingly disclosed that she is indeed married, as hinted in the last chapter of her recently published book.

In her act, the comedian chose not to reveal her husband’s name, instead referring to him as “The Man from Bristol” or “The Gray-Haired Gentleman”. She praised his good looks, highlighting his attractive facial structure and stylish salt-and-pepper hair.

She wrote: ‘I encountered my dearest friend and soulmate who brings me an abundance of foolishness, amusement, happiness, encouragement, concern, and security beyond what I believed a single person could provide. This is because I had to forfeit my home due to a mold illness, and he was the expert in charge of the remediation project on the house.’

Actually, there’s some misinformation between us. He isn’t my boyfriend; instead, he is my spouse, as we tied the knot when I turned 51.

She mentioned: “Every time I shared with my friends that I had encountered someone new, they would all express puzzlement, commenting that it’s rather unlikely under housebound illness and a worldwide pandemic for a chivalrous figure to show up at the doorstep. Yet, surprisingly enough, he did.
