Miracle extends Dota 2 hiatus, will not rejoin Nigma Galaxy after ESL One Raleigh
Miracle- looks in better health, but his Dota 2 hiatus at Nigma will be extended.
Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi is taking a break from playing for Nigma Galaxy’s Dota 2 team for an extended period, as confirmed by the organization.
Initially, it was thought that Miracle- would rejoin the team during ESL One Raleigh, but recent announcements indicate that he will continue to be out due to private matters. Despite this setback, he remains an integral part of the team and is still a valuable asset on the bench.
Miracle spotted with Nigma, but he won’t be returning to the server yet
On April 18th, Nigma shared an update about Miracle-, mentioning that they dropped by for a nighttime basketball session before the team headed off to Bucharest. The post featured pictures of the team and a joyful Miracle-.
These images sparked speculation that Miracle- might make a comeback in competitive Dota 2, but a brief caption alongside them dashed those expectations. The statement acknowledged that this wasn’t the anticipated news.
Nigma confirmed that Amer is deeply cherished by our fans and the Dota community, with many looking forward to his comeback. However, they understand and appreciate that for now, he is in good health and taking time off. They also honor his choice to keep his privacy during this period.
As a gamer myself, I’ve been on-and-off the competitive Dota scene for nearly two years now, due to health concerns that made it difficult for me, specifically as a star carry and mid laner, to keep up with the game physically. However, I managed to make a comeback towards the end of 2024, teaming up with Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. In 2023, I found myself inactive more often than not.
Daniel “Ghost” Chan, who’s standing in temporarily, has performed well as a substitute, even at recent tournaments like ESL One Raleigh and PGL Wallachia Season 3. It is expected that he will again be utilized for this weekend’s PGL Wallachia Season 4.
Regarding Miracle-‘s possible participation in upcoming events like other tournaments or The International this year, it’s difficult to predict, but for now, it seems that he is noticeably more content and healthier compared to his previous appearances.
