MinD_ContRoL returns to Nigma Galaxy – only as a stand-in due to visa issues

Nigma Galaxy is facing problems with player visas, and two of their players will unfortunately miss FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 as a result.

Nigma Galaxy is facing visa problems as they prepare to compete in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 later this month. These issues are disrupting their preparation, especially as they are currently without a complete team following Maroun “GH” Merhej’s departure. They recently tested a new player, but now need to find two temporary replacements for the upcoming tournament.

Visa problems help Mind_ContRoL return to Nigma Galaxy

Nigma is currently performing well, even though they don’t have a full team, thanks to Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong playing with them. They’re also trialing Tobias “Tobi” Buchner as a support player. However, things will change when FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 begins. Unfortunately, two of Nigma’s players are facing visa problems that will prevent them from attending the event in Belgrade, Serbia.

Nigma announced on X that Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi and Tony “No!ob” Assaf won’t be able to attend the next event due to visa problems. Instead, Kirill “Hellscream” Lagutik and Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov will be taking their place.

I’m so excited to see Mind_Control and KuroKy playing together again! It’s been a while – since 2023 when MC left Nigma – and they have such a history. I remember when they were both on Team Liquid at TI7 and actually *won* the whole thing! That was amazing, and it’ll be great to see if they can recapture some of that magic. While a lot of people know Hellscream from his time with Shopify Rebellion, this reunion is what I’m really looking forward to!

MinD_ContRoL’s (possible) short return

Many fans are excited about the two players teaming up again, but this might not last. MC is only filling in temporarily and probably won’t stay with Nigma after the FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 tournament. Nigma’s current lineup is performing well, so they’ll likely go back to their original pair after the event. With two more tournaments coming up, MC’s continued presence could be a surprise for Nigma fans. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how the team does with two temporary players.

The full Nigma Galaxy roster for FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 is:

  • Daniel “Ghost” Chan
  • Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
  • Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov
  • Kirill “Hellscream” Lagutik
  • Tobias “Tobi” Buchner

Okay, so Nigma hasn’t had much time to practice as a team, which is kinda worrying for their next tournament. I’m also keeping an eye out to see if other teams run into the same visa problems Nigma did – hopefully not!
