Millie Bobby Brown’s long-awaited Netflix sequel confirms major cast returns

Enola Holmes 3 has confirmed some major actors are set to return alongside Millie Bobby Brown.

The actress known for her role in “Stranger Things” will be back as the main character, who is the little sister of Sherlock, in a much-anticipated continuation of the “Enola Holmes” series that began in 2020 and continued with “Enola Holmes 2” in 2022.

Netflix has officially revealed the returning cast for the upcoming sequel, featuring Louis Partridge playing Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter portraying Eudoria Holmes, Henry Cavill reprising his role as Sherlock Holmes, Himesh Patel taking on Dr John Watson once more, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.

Previously, Harry Bradbeer directed the first two films, but it has been confirmed that starting with the third movie, Philip Barantini, who has previously directed ‘Boiling Point’ and ‘Adolescence’, will be at the helm instead.

In a new development, Jack Thorne, fresh from his collaboration with Barantini on “Adolescence”, is set to pen the screenplay again.

Currently, Brown has completed shooting for the fifth and last season of Stranger Things, which is anticipated to air by the end of this year.

The intricacies of the plot are being closely guarded, with the creators Matt and Ross Duffer resorting to altering the narrative of the play The First Shadow, which is set to run on the West End.

In an intriguing new documentary known as “Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow“, playwright Kate Trefry, who contributes to the TV show, disclosed that alterations were made to the script of the stage production in order to preserve a significant surprise for future episodes.

She informs Stephen Daldry, the show’s director, that they can confirm an event occurred, but won’t be able to share much detail about it. This is due to the Duffer Brothers’ intention to save the revelation for Season 5, aiming to keep key plot points under wraps.

In “The First Shadow,” we follow the characters of Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, and Joyce Maldonado, portrayed by David Harbour, Sean Astin, and Winona Ryder in the series.

Right now, you can stream Enola Holmes 1 and 2 on Netflix. At the moment, they’re working on the third movie, but there isn’t a confirmed release date yet.
