Millie Bobby Brown Wants to Play Britney Spears in Biopic

Millie Bobby Brown, who’s been adopting a 2000s pop-star style on social media recently, has publicly expressed her desire to portray Britney Spears in an upcoming film.

Over these last few days, I’ve found myself utterly captivated! The Stranger Things actress has been treating us to photos that make her look strikingly reminiscent of the iconic blonde bombshell, the Toxic singer. It’s as if she stepped right out of a music video!

Fans have guessed that Brown has been casually auditioning for the part with her Instagram posts.

Now, it’s been revealed that Millie has openly expressed her desire to follow in Britney Spears’ footsteps by portraying herself in a revealing biographical movie, which is inspired by her popular book titled “The Woman Inside Me.

Millie shared with ET, “There’s nothing more delightful for me than portraying such a legendary, stunning character. However, I’ll let the gods decide on that one.

Previously, she expressed to Access Hollywood that there’s nothing she desires more than being involved in sharing her tale.

She mentioned, “I hope someone can make it truly enchanting, and I’m always ready for that kind of collaboration.

Millie previously expressed an interest to play Britney in a biopic back in 2022. 

In her interview with The Drew Barrymore Show, she shared what acting role she hopes to play following Stranger Things.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt desire – I yearn to bring a real-life persona to life. Specifically, I aspire to embody the iconic pop sensation, Britney Spears. Her captivating journey stirs something deep within me, and it’s not just her fame that resonates with me; it’s the essence of her story that speaks to my soul.

She mentioned that they both had the common experience of growing up under public scrutiny, and Millie noticed akin emotions surfacing as she revisited old interviews featuring the “Hit Me Baby One More Time” singer.

Following an intense bidding competition last year, Universal Studios secured the privilege to create a biographical movie about Britney Spears. It has been announced that the director of “Wicked,” Jon M. Chu, will helm the project following the premiere of the second part of his film.

However, sources close to The Sun have revealed that Britney, who plays a significant role in shaping the movie’s narrative, has found it challenging to come to a decision regarding the film.

The hitmaker seems to be having second thoughts, as she appears to constantly shift directions when planning the storyline for the biographical film.

According to an inside source, the biographical film is currently at a very preliminary stage of planning, with many creative suggestions being tossed around regarding potential directions the storyline might follow, long before any cameras start rolling.

However, even when it seems like Britney is heading in a particular direction, the source stated that she often changes course.

Currently, Britney’s manager, Cade Hudson, serves as an executive producer for her biopic. In this role, he has been attempting to bridge ideas between the creative team and Britney. However, the source mentioned that it seems like the project is in a state of constant evolution without a clear path at the moment.

Last month, at the Golden Globe Awards, Chu gave an update on the making of the biopic.

He reminisced telling Billboard, “I’ve been a devoted admirer of Britney since we were both young. In fact, she was among the twelve performers at the Shrine Auditorium back then.

‘So I want to do her justice and tell her story right.’

However, he cautioned that telling a sensitive story meant the biopic couldn’t be rushed out.

‘We’re developing it now and it’s a long road ahead,’ Chu said.

During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the director of Crazy Rich Asians made it clear that he intended to ensure Spears remained informed about the movie based on her life’s story.

He mentioned that she’ll play a significant role. At the moment, I haven’t completed anything thoroughly, but her involvement in this project is going to be substantial. He also shared that he has some concepts and strategies, but everything is still at a preliminary stage.
