Millie Bobby Brown gives emotional speech as Stranger Things wraps filming

As a devoted fan who has grown up with Eleven and the gang, I can’t help but feel a profound mix of nostalgia, sadness, and anticipation as Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink bid farewell to Stranger Things. This show has been an integral part of my life for the past six years, providing me with endless hours of entertainment, heart-stopping suspense, and characters I’ve come to love like family.

Millie Bobby Brown, emotionally saying goodbye, parted ways with the cast and team of Stranger Things as they concluded shooting for the fifth and last season.

2025 is when we can expect the much-anticipated last season of the popular supernatural TV show to stream on Netflix.

Millie Bobby Brown, who has portrayed Eleven since the series premiered in 2016, shared a collection of backstage images and a heartfelt video message on Instagram last Friday (December 20), marking the show’s conclusion.

As a gamer, I can’t wait for graduation, but unlike some folks, I won’t be sighing with relief at the thought of leaving my professors and peers behind. Instead, I’m cherishing these moments as they’ve been an essential part of my journey so far.

I’m not quite at the point where I can say goodbye just yet. Every single one of you holds a special place in my heart, and the shared memories and connections we’ve built as a family are something I cherish deeply. I appreciate each of you immensely.

Supporters swiftly filled the comment area with expressions of their affection for the series and Brown’s renowned character, as one put it: “We’re not yet prepared to bid farewell.

“The role that would have been impossible to pull off without you, Millie, is simply breathtaking,” someone remarked, while another commented, “You’ve got me tearing up, but I swear it’s not me!

Another admirer expressed their feelings similarly, saying: “El, you’ll always have a special place in my heart, partly due to ‘Stranger Things’, but even more so because you made me feel like I belonged. I’m really going to miss all of it.

On Saturday (December 21), Sadie Sink, known for her role as Max Mayfield, shared some glimpses of her work experience on Instagram, labeling it as an “extraordinary childhood” that she was fortunate to have.

“The final episode of ‘Stranger Things’ has come to an end. This series, its characters, and everyone associated with it have played a significant role in shaping who I am and provided me with an unforgettable childhood experience. It connected me with my closest friends.

Parting is such sorrow, yet my heart is filled with cherished memories and enduring affection. I am forever indebted to you.

As a devoted fan, I eagerly awaited the start of season five production, which finally kicked off in January 2024, following a delay caused by the Hollywood writers’ strike in 2023.

At the start of this month, the actor Maya Hawke (who plays Robin Buckley) hinted at a grand finale for the series, consisting of eight extended episodes instead of the usual number.

She mentioned that they’re producing approximately eight feature-length films instead, as each episode is quite extended, during her interview on the Podcrushed podcast.

The team puts great emphasis on maintaining high-quality writing for each season, which means that both the writing process and filming take a considerable amount of time.

Streaming now on Netflix, you can watch Seasons 1 through 4 of Stranger Things. The upcoming fifth and final season is approaching soon. If you’re in London, don’t miss out on the live experience with Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre, booking until February 2025. You can purchase your tickets right now!
