Millie Bobby Brown Gets Real About Farm Life

Millie Bobby Brown is blissfully wedded to Jake Bongiovi, the actor-producer who is also the son of Jon Bon Jovi, and they are contentedly living a traditional lifestyle on a farm nestled in rural Georgia.

However, the British actress revealed to the March 2025 edition of Vanity Fair that life isn’t always rosy and filled with tulips and sunlight.

In the upcoming fifth season of Stranger Things, the character portrayed as beautiful expressed some drawbacks associated with living a ‘simplistic lifestyle.’

She and Bongiovi have to shovel a lot of crap, literally.

The couple keep busy and get quite messy while looking after sheep, goats, cows, donkeys, and their cherished dog, Winnie.

Brown stated, ‘If a life devoid of tasks like cleaning horse manure or scrubbing cows with one’s hands isn’t for you, then it simply isn’t meant to be.’ (Or alternatively, ‘If handling horse manure and washing cows by hand aren’t part of your life, then that lifestyle isn’t suited for you.’)

But she would have it no other way. 

She mentioned that she does it simply because she enjoys it. While some traditional wives might take it up as it appears pure, it’s actually not the case.

Due to her deep affection for animals, she’s been enrolled in veterinary courses to provide assistance for her beloved four-legged companions.

She shared that she can handle injuries, check pulses, regulate blood pressure, among other medical tasks. Moreover, she personally manages all of their medical records, as she explained to the publication.

Currently, I only need to complete my apprenticeship, which involves observing operations and similar tasks. While social media adoption campaigns can be inspiring for a while, lasting change requires rolling up your sleeves and taking direct action.

Also in the wide-ranging VF interview Millie said she was sad to let Stranger Things go.

‘It wasn’t hitting me this entire time—until yesterday,’ Brown said.

On the filming location, I found myself saying, “Just one more day remains,” and unexpectedly, tears welled up. Truth be told, I usually restrain my emotions at work. Despite being quite emotional in nature, I strive to maintain a tough facade.

As an over-the-moon fan, I found myself squirming in discomfort. Jake exclaimed, “It’s fantastic! You need to share it!” And then, tears began to gather in my eyes.

And she told the outlet how she got into character.

‘I implemented what I was learning as a child, or what I was going through, into her,’ she noted.

The question of Eleven’s identity was a significant struggle for us. Will she choose to dress like a girl, or opt for the shirts of her adoptive father, Hopper? Or will she embrace the influence of her friends and become someone new?

During that phase of my life, I was unsure about the appearance I desired, whether I leaned towards a more feminine style, a more masculine one, something androgynous, or even grunge. Consequently, I embraced this ambiguity in my look.

Brown also noted that her true passion is musicals and she would like to star in one someday.

She loved Wicked starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

She also adores numerous other musicals, as she once mentioned her aspiration to become Hannah Montana. Her fondness extends to shows like Hairspray and Mamma Mia!.
