Millie Bobby Brown breaks silence on Britney Spears biopic rumours

Actress Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role in “Stranger Things,” has finally spoken out about speculation that she may feature in a film based on the life of pop icon Britney Spears.

Recently, spectators started to ponder if the up-and-coming actor could potentially portray the iconic pop star, as Brown recently changed his hairstyle to blond.

At the Los Angeles premiere of her latest Netflix film, “The Electric State,” Brown openly discussed the speculations with Entertainment Tonight. It appeared as though she was expressing her interest in the role by mentioning her own name in relation to the rumors.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt wish: There is nothing more fulfilling for me than bringing to life such an iconic, radiant character. However, I entrust that decision to the heavens above.

Previously, Brown expressed her desire to portray Britney in a movie to Access Hollywood. She shared that she felt passionately about being a part of Britney’s story, stating “I would relish the opportunity more than anything else,” further adding, “I would aim to bring it to life in the most captivating manner, and I would always be eager to take on such a role.

Previously, it was revealed that a biographical film based on Britney’s life was being developed. This announcement came after Universal secured the rights to adapt her memoir titled “The Woman in Me“.

According to Variety, it was announced later that Wicked director Jon M Chu and La La Land producer Marc Platt were set to collaborate on the project for the book adaptation.

In an intriguing part of the conversation, I shared the story behind my new blonde look when asked if it was a change made specifically for The Electric State.

She explained, “I dyed my hair blond for the movie shoot. Later, I returned to being a brunette. When the press tour approached, I wished to maintain consistency, so I wanted viewers to see the same character on the red carpet as they did in the film.

The Electric State is released on Netflix on March 14, 2025.
