Millie Bobby Brown, 21, shares rare comments about adopting her baby girl as she hints at wanting four children

Millie Bobby Brown recently talked about her adopted daughter and suggested she hopes to have a total of four children.

Millie Bobby Brown, the 21-year-old actress from Stranger Things, surprised her fans with a recent social media post revealing she adopted a child. She married Jake Bongiovi last year and shared the news on August 21st.

I was so thrilled to see her finally share the first pictures of her and Jake’s sweet baby girl! She’s now talked about how she envisions raising her daughter with all the attention that comes with being in the public eye, and it’s really thoughtful. It sounds like she’s giving a lot of consideration to how to best navigate that for her little one.

In an interview with British Vogue’s December issue, Millie Bobby Brown was hesitant to discuss her baby’s personality, explaining she wants to shield her from public attention.

She explained that she won’t be sharing the story, as it’s crucial to protect the individual and allow them to tell it themselves when they’re ready.

I wouldn’t want to draw unwanted attention to her. If she ever decides she wants to share who she is with the world, like I did when I was younger, we’ll be happy to support that.

‘But right now, as she’s so little… as her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.’ 

I was so touched when Millie opened up about her dream of having a big family! She mentioned she comes from a large one – she’s one of four kids – and so is her partner. It’s lovely to hear them both value that family dynamic and want to create something similar for themselves.

And of her husband as a dad, she added: ‘We are 50-50 on everything. 

I feel so lucky to be raising a family with him – he’s a truly wonderful father.

I was so thrilled to hear Millie share her wonderful news! She announced that this August, they welcomed a precious baby girl into their family through adoption. It’s such a beautiful story, and I’m overjoyed for them!

We are thrilled to begin this new journey as parents and respectfully ask for privacy during this special time.

On July 20 Millie dropped a hint there was a baby in their life.

Millie shared a photo on Instagram of Jake pushing a stroller, with the caption ‘helluva summer thus far.’ It wasn’t immediately clear what the situation was.

They got married in May 2024 and had talked about starting a family, including having children and considering adoption. They hoped to have a large family together.

Earlier this year she said she wanted to be a mother. 

During a recent interview on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the actress shared that she’s excited about becoming a mother, even though she’s still young.

She shared that her parents were very young when she was born – her mom was 21 and her dad was 19. She added that dealing with this family history has been something she’s always been aware of, even before she met her husband, Jake.

Ever since I was little, I’ve always dreamed of being a mom, wanting to be just like my own mother. My grandmother was also incredibly important to me and played a big role in my life.

Millie explained that Jake understands how much starting a family means to her. While she’s dedicated to building her career as both an actor and a producer, she also feels it’s a very important personal goal to have a family.

‘It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.’

Millie then added: ‘And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. 

Both my partner and I come from families with four children, so we’re open to having a large family. For me personally, I don’t see a big difference between having a biological child and adopting one.

She explained that her and Jake create a welcoming and loving home where everyone feels comfortable. They believe in keeping their door open to anyone and everything, and that’s the energy they strive for.
