As a fervent fan of American Pickers, I have been deeply saddened and intrigued by the tumultuous relationship between Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz. Having closely followed their journey through the show, it was heart-wrenching to learn about their estrangement over the years. However, hearing about their reunion before Fritz’s passing brings a glimmer of hope that even the most strained relationships can find mend.

Mike Wolfe made a public appearance for the first time since the passing of his American Pickers partner, Frank Fritz, when he was spotted in LeClaire, Iowa on a Thursday.

The antique and collectible picker, 60, looked somber while moving furniture from his white van.

For the excursion, he donned a navy tee paired with blue denim pants and earthy-brown footwear, while protecting his gaze with a set of sunshades.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that Frank, who had been 60, passed away. This heartbreaking news came from his family, two years following an incapacitating stroke he experienced in October 2022.

Despite Fritz stating in 2022 that it had been two years since he last spoke to Wolfe, a recent article disclosed that he reconciled with his fellow actor a year prior to his passing.

Fritz had seen his health gradually deteriorate since he left the show in 2021.

Last year, the television personality had a stroke at his home in Iowa, yet the exact reason for his demise remains undiscovered.

According to a post shared on Fritz’s Facebook page on Tuesday, it was difficult news to announce that Frank had passed away around 7:30 the previous night. Mike Wolfe rushed back from Nashville, and others were also present at the time of his passing.

Here’s a more conversational way of saying it: “We’re going through a really tough period right now, and I want to ask that everyone be extra considerate, especially towards Mike. He’s part of our family too. We appreciate your patience and kindness as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for the love and support you’ve shown us over the years.

On Tuesday, it was sadly announced by Wolfe via Instagram: ‘I mournfully inform everyone that Frank took his last breath last night.’

Who could have imagined that we’d be co-pilots, seated in the cockpit of a white delivery truck, with millions of spectators captivated by our journey?

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d say, “Prior to our performances, my companion and I embarked on uncharted journeys without a specific goal. Our mutual curiosity fueled by a desire to uncover intriguing historical gems was our compass.

On numerous adventures together, we’ve accumulated countless memories and traveled many miles. It’s a blessing to have been with him during his final homecoming voyage. My dear friend, I love you deeply and the thought of being without you brings tears to my eyes; I know you’ve found peace.

In January 2010, the History Channel premiered a show called American Pickers. This series chronicles the journeys of Wolfe and Fritz across America, where they scavenge (or “pick”) various artifacts for their antique store based in Iowa.

In July 2021, Fritz took everyone by surprise as he departed the show, followed by him experiencing a stroke only a year after that.

In the course of my interactions with followers, I opened up about my strained relationship with Wolfe. To be completely honest, I can’t recall a single instance where he said more than five complimentary things to me throughout our decade-long partnership.

Indeed, it appears that Fritz’s former colleagues had reconciled prior to his demise, as reported by the Quad-City Times.

Back in 2023, a dear old friend of the actors organized a gathering for Memorial Day, and this friend made it clear that any rumors about a conflict between them were simply unfounded.

According to the friend, it wasn’t a conflict or disagreement between Mike and Frank; instead, they required some distance from one another in order to truly value and admire each other.

Working 10-hour days, every day for a whole week alongside your best friend put a significant strain on their relationship.

For a while now, Mike has been eager to meet with Frank. Only recently has Frank felt well enough to get together with him. As it turns out, it was Frank who asked to see Mike, she noted.

1) “They were both weeping, and it’s clear they were both emotional. Mike mentioned the fact that they were both quite anxious about their upcoming appearance on David Letterman, marking one of their major debuts,” she noted.

He stated, “No one else can fill your shoes, Frank.” He attributed their harmonious team dynamic to the distinctly humorous character that Frank possesses. She went on to explain this further.

She mentioned reminiscing about past events – discussing their beginnings and the significant influence they exerted upon the globe. On either side, there was visible emotion, as she explained, manifesting in tears.

Mike emphasized the enjoyable moments they shared prior to and during the performance. He expressed a desire for Frank’s return to the show, but it seems that Frank is currently prioritizing his well-being, as mentioned by the friend.

Subsequently, Leticia Cline, Wolfe’s long-term friend, refuted speculations suggesting a disagreement between them.

For three years, she’s observed that Mike has gone above and beyond to ensure Frank receives top-notch care, as noted in a post on her Instagram Story.

Despite the challenging situation where false rumors have been circulating, causing harm and spreading hate, rather than focusing on refuting them, he has chosen to use his energy productively. This includes making phone calls and in-person meetings with Frank and his caregivers. Remarkably, he was even there when Frank took his final breath last night.

Despite not meeting Frank personally, Wolfe’s girlfriend affirmed that she came to know him well through the numerous anecdotes about their shared experiences with Mike, both before and following the show.

Over these years, I’ve been incredibly impressed by Mike’s poise and adaptability, and his ability to preserve our friendship despite the challenges. Many people will mourn the loss of Frank.” (She finished off by saying this.)
