Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Will Let You Get Out and Walk

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for exploration and a soft spot for immersive experiences, I must say that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has caught my attention like no other game in recent memory. Having traversed countless virtual landscapes over the years, I can confidently assert that this upcoming simulation promises to be the undisputed king of open worlds.

In November, the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 offers an immersive experience by allowing players to exit their aircraft and explore on foot.

In a conversation with PC Gamer, Jorge Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, shared details about the upcoming game, highlighting some of its exciting new features.

“Starting from 2024, you’ll be free to disembark the plane and explore freely. Imagine strolling along your beloved mountain trail, reaching your favorite hut nestled in the mountains. Relax by the lake, watch the sun dip below the horizon. It’s a digital replica designed for an immersive experience.”

It’s quite impressive! With these games, you get the entire planet Earth to traverse, which means that if walking is now an option, then Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could very well be the largest open world in any game – to date.

Neumann also spoke about the level of immersion in the new game’s world.

2024’s release of [MSFS] showcases an unprecedented level of detail, featuring every tree on Earth. We employ a sophisticated machine learning system that not only identifies each tree but also determines its species. Afterward, we virtually plant trillions of trees in real-time, ensuring the simulation is incredibly precise and accurate.

Additionally, he mentioned that authentic vessels from actual shipping data are integrated into the game, allowing players to actually dock on these ships out at sea.

At the moment, all ships worldwide are transmitting a signal via their transponders, correct? Imagine being able to board any of these ships, and it appears as though you’re in a first-person shooter video game environment.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is out 19th November, on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
