Mickey Rourke’s dog, Ivan, is seriously ill and needs a $10,000 operation to fix a heart problem. This comes at a difficult time for Rourke, who is also struggling with money issues.
Sources say Ivan may need another surgery after the first one, which could cost between $6,000 and $8,000.
At 73 years old, Mickey Rourke is struggling financially. He was evicted from his Los Angeles home in late 2025 after accumulating around $60,000 in unpaid rent.
After news spread, fans quickly donated around $100,000 through a GoFundMe campaign started by someone who works with Rourke’s manager, Kimberly Hines. However, Rourke strongly disapproves of the campaign, calling it humiliating, and is now working to give the money back.
Sources say he’s been hesitant about the job opportunities Hines found, but he’s determined to find work to pay for Ivan’s medical treatments.
Hines has released a statement saying he supports Mickey and wants to see him make good decisions for both his career and personal life. However, he emphasizes that Mickey is at a critical point and must ultimately decide his own future path.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Rourke’s representative for further comment.

This news about Ivan follows Robert De Niro’s strong criticism of a GoFundMe campaign created for him, which he labeled a ‘scam’ and ‘humiliating’.
He announced on Instagram that his lawyer is working hard to get people their money back as soon as possible.
The actor continued his angry message, explaining that over $90,000 still needs to be returned to donors. He strongly stated that whoever was responsible for the situation should not receive any of the funds, using highly offensive language.
Rourke ended by saying his only concern right now is the health of his friend, Eric Dane, who revealed he has ALS last April. ALS is a disease that affects the nerves and muscles.
The former Hollywood star desperately asked for help for Eric Sone, writing “Strong Prayers Please!” He’s been turning down work despite facing money problems and the threat of eviction.
Following reports that he’s carefully choosing his work due to money problems and a recent eviction, Rourke has shared a new post on social media.
According to TMZ, Rourke’s manager, Kimberly Hines, shared that he’s been receiving many job offers lately.
The available opportunities include independent films, photo sessions, and in-person events like appearances and autograph signings. Hines mentioned she secured six potential projects for the actor within just two days.

Rourke’s pride, however, is apparently getting in the way of an actual job.
According to Hines, Robert Downey Jr. will now only accept roles that offer a very high daily rate – around $200,000 – reflecting his status as a top star.
The Academy Award-winning actor, known for collaborating with stars like Kim Basinger, Marisa Tomei, and Bruce Willis, continues to seek out projects with equally talented actors and directors.
Hines believes that if Rourke focuses on doing good work, financial success will follow.
The manager mentioned the actor was currently at a West Hollywood hotel with his three dogs, but would be leaving shortly. TMZ reports that Rourke has recently moved into a new apartment in Los Angeles.

Hines thinks Rourke has the potential to regain his former success, but he needs to start working again to rebuild his life.
Rourke’s acting career had been struggling, but it received a major boost when he played Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in the 2008 drama, The Wrestler, directed by Darren Aronofsky.
He was nominated for an Oscar for his acting and also won both a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award.
He appeared in Iron Man 2 and The Expendables, both released in 2010, but his career didn’t maintain that momentum and eventually faded again.
He’s also known for his work on films like 9½ Weeks (1986), Angel Heart (1987), and Sin City (2005).
I always thought Rory Rourke was one of the most captivating and gifted actors in Hollywood during the 80s and early 90s. He really stood out to me!
He was initially seen as a captivating rebel, but his reputation quickly declined. His self-destructive habits and struggles with addiction made him difficult to collaborate with.
By the early 1990s, his acting career began to decline, and he left Hollywood to become a professional boxer. This new career led to several injuries, including a broken nose and cheekbone. He apparently tried to repair the damage with plastic surgery, but the results drastically changed his appearance.

Oh my god, can you believe it? Poor Jeremy Rourke! I just heard he got this awful notice last month – they’re saying he owes almost sixty thousand dollars in back rent on his place in LA! And get this – they gave him only three days to pay up, or they’re threatening to kick him out! It’s just… unbelievable. I’m so worried for him!
Liya-Joelle Jones, an assistant to Hines, started a fundraiser. She stated that Robert Rourke fully approved of the GoFundMe campaign.
Within two days, the campaign raised $100,490 effectively surpassing its $100,000 goal.
Hines explained they told Mickey Rourke about the GoFundMe campaign, but he didn’t seem to fully grasp what it was. According to Hines, Rourke simply said, “Okay, great.” Hines believes Rourke didn’t understand the situation, and the resulting media attention upset him.
