Mickey Rourke Sparks Outrage with Another CBB Rule Break After Homophobic Comments
Mickey Rourke, once again, stirred up trouble within the Celebrity Big Brother household by violating a new rule, following the backlash he received for making offensive, homophobic remarks directed at JoJo Siwa.
On Wednesday, viewers of the ITV program called for ‘vile’ Mickey, aged 72, to be expelled from the house following his derogatory comments towards lesbian dancer Jojo, who he referred to as a slur, and subsequent misogynistic rant against other female housemates.
Currently, Mickey’s actions are stirring tension among his fellow residents, as he’s decided not to follow the established protocol by withholding his nominations for possible eviction.
On this Thursday’s episode, the housemates take a step to nominate each other for the first time this season, with the live eviction happening on Friday.
Despite Mickey being subjected to a public vote following JoJo’s “fatal nomination,” he declined to disclose the identities of the two housemates he intended to propose for elimination.
Speaking directly to Big Brother, he firmly declared: ‘I prefer not to expel anyone. I absolutely won’t do it. I have no intention of selecting two individuals to remove from here.’

The regulatory body, Ofcom, is facing calls for action following the ITV program, as Mickey received an official reprimand from Big Brother.
Spectators argued that producers should have taken additional action by evicting him from the house, urging regulatory body Ofcom to intervene promptly.
On Twitter, supporters expressed outrage: ‘I’ve filed a complaint with Ofcom. Mickey Rourke shouldn’t be on that show. Jokes about violence against women and girls are not acceptable, and those who think they can change homosexual women through rape are relics of the past and should have no place in today’s society. #CBBUK’;

Fans took to Twitter, expressing their anger: ‘I’ve submitted a complaint to Ofcom. Mickey Rourke doesn’t belong on that program. Making light of violence against women and girls is unacceptable, and anyone who thinks they can convert homosexual women through rape is outdated and shouldn’t have a platform in today’s world. #CBBUC’;

On Twitter, fans were furious: ‘I’ve filed a complaint with Ofcom. Mickey Rourke should be removed from that show. Jokes about violence against women and girls are not amusing, and those who believe they can change homosexual women through rape are living in the past and have no business in modern society. #CBBUK’;

Taking to Twitter, fans were enraged: ‘I’ve submitted a complaint to Ofcom. Mickey Rourke doesn’t deserve to be on that program. Making light of violence against women and girls is unacceptable, and those who think they can change homosexual women through rape are outdated and should not have a platform in today’s world. #CBBUK’;

I’m sorry, but it’s not sufficient just to issue a warning. Telling a 21-year-old that he will change her sexuality by tying her up is repugnant and unacceptable. The language used was distasteful, and he should be immediately removed from the show. #CBBUK #CBB
This is beyond unacceptable! Why can’t we stop glorifying such harmful behavior and instead call it out for what it is – detrimental to women and girls. Therefore, yes, he should be taken off the show immediately. Continuing to keep him on air implies that his comments are acceptable, which is absurd.
As an overly enthusiastic fan, I find myself pondering: “What do you think will be the number of complaints to OFCOM after tonight’s episode? Mickey, brace yourself! #CBBUC #CBBLL #CBBLive” or simply “OFcom is gearing up for tonight, they know what’s brewing #CBBUK”.
“For complaints regarding Mickey Rourke on CBB, press 1. For all other complaints (as they primarily handle those), press 2. (This is for Ofcom’s telephone line in relation to #CBBUK)”
1. ‘Without a shadow of a doubt, Ofcom will receive numerous complaints about tonight’s episode of Big Brother UK.’
2. ‘Mickey Rourke has been keeping the Ofcom team busy since last Friday!! #CBBUK’
3. ‘I can sense the impending Ofcom complaints from here regarding Big Brother UK.’
4. ‘It seems like ITVX and bbuk are running out of funds, as Channel 4 used to expel contestants for less. He made a derogatory remark, so @Ofcom step in!! #CBBUK’
In the broadcast on Wednesday, which peaked at 1.74 million viewers, Mickey caused tears from the 21-year-old dancer Jojo when he suggested that he could potentially change her sexual orientation while they were both in the house.
In a conversation about her preferences, Mickey inquired of the influencer, “Are you attracted to women or men?” To this, she responded, “As for me, I’m drawn to women. My partner identifies as non-binary.
Mickey firmly maintains that if he spends more than four days with her, she will no longer identify as gay.
Later, JoJo responded confidently: ‘I assure you, I’ll continue to identify as gay, and my relationship will remain joyful.’
In the garden area later on, Mickey posed a question to Chris Hughes: Suppose we all needed to eliminate each other from the house, would Chris Hughes be willing to swiftly remove the person identifying as a lesbian? The Wrestler star responded with: ‘I’ll get rid of the lesbian immediately.’

JoJo, listening in, retorted, “I find that argument of yours offensive, if that’s what you meant,” and Chris swiftly intervened, “You can’t say that to her, Mickey.
Unphased, Mickey went on saying, “I require a cigarette,” while indicating towards JoJo and clarifying, “I’m not addressing you.
Once more, Chris counters with, “Mickey, that’s not something you should say,” to which Mickey clarified, “I understand. I was referring to a cigarette.
As JoJo showed obvious signs of distress following their interaction, Chris provided comfort. Meanwhile, Mickey was summoned to the Diary Room and received a caution.
Prior to your entrance into the Big Brother house, the guidelines about inappropriate speech and conduct were clearly outlined to Mickey.
Mickey, let me run something by you – I’ve been so engrossed in our conversation that it struck me as possibly offensive to you and the audience. Here, take another look at what we exchanged: ‘Mickey, do you grasp now how this language might be perceived as inappropriate or disrespectful towards your fellow Housemates or viewers?’
Mickey responded: ‘I believe that’s correct, unless I was being rude or genuinely felt otherwise.’
Big Brother continued: ‘Mickey, Big Brother thinks your language was offensive and unacceptable.’
‘Alright. I can understand that,’ Mickey agreed.
After giving the celebrity a written warning, Big Brother made it clear that any more inappropriate speech or actions might result in their eviction from the Big Brother house. Is that clear to you, Mickey?
Mickey added: ‘Yes I do. It’s some serious stuff.’
In response to a prompt from Big Brother, he eventually admitted his mistake and apologized, clarifying that his words were merely idle talk and not indicative of any dishonorable motives.
‘I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.’

Later on in the show, Mickey generated more controversy by mocking actress Donna Preston for her weight and criticizing Patsy Palmer’s culinary abilities. It was observed that his disrespectful remarks appeared to target only the female members of the household.
In her bedroom, Donna was utilizing an LED mask, claiming it helped address the wrinkles on her neck.
Next, Mickey inquired if it was functioning properly, to which she responded that she hadn’t observed any outcomes as of yet.
This prompted Mickey to respond impertinently, suggesting, “Perhaps you could take a 10-minute jog around the block instead.
Donna commented, “I’m starting to notice a bit of a turkey neck,” to which Mickey replied, “Well, that’s just part of the package. It’s kind of like the saying goes, ‘You are what you eat.'” (Or alternatively, “Donna mentioned she was seeing a hint of a turkey neck, and Mickey responded by noting it’s all part of the process, reminding her of the old adage, ‘You are what you eat.'”)
Patsy then interjected to kindly remind the room that Donna ‘eats really healthy now…’
Later on, I found myself chuckling over the incident as I shared the story with Ella Rae Wise and Danny Beard. Danny playfully quipped in response, “Even a French Bulldog has a better physique than that!
The subject of food was brought up again when Mickey insulted Patsy’s cooking.
> During a conversation with his roommates, Mickey commented: “The food from Big Brother needs some improvement… It could use a bit more flavor.
Jojo added his thoughts, saying: “It’s good that we have Patsy around. If she ever stops cooking, we’ll be in trouble”, and the actor responded, “So we need to learn how to cook ourselves?
Afterward, the Dance Moms celebrity shared with him that it was actually Patsy who was handling the cooking. Meanwhile, the camera switched to Patsy, her expression clearly displeased, as Angellica Bell added: “Thank you Patsy, the food has been delightful.
Spectators found Mickey’s actions on the show distasteful, leaving them stunned that he merely received a verbal reprimand instead of being dismissed from the program.
A disgruntled ITV viewer expressed their frustration on social media platform X: ‘The fact that Mickey Rourke isn’t expelled from #CBBUK, given his history of treating women poorly and the offensive way he spoke to/about Jojo, is deeply troubling. It’s distressing to watch such behavior.’
It’s utterly shameful… treating a young woman in such a manner merely for being herself. Mickey should be removed immediately.
‘He has shown absolutely no remorse whatsoever, vile behaviour from Mickey’
During the spin-off series Late & Live, panelist Kemi Rogers noted an intriguing aspect – Mickey’s insults seemed to be exclusively directed towards the female inhabitants of the house.
‘Admiring the woman on the panel during late-night live television, who openly expressed her discomfort with Mickey and pointed out his awkward behavior and misogyny. Using the hashtags: #CBB, #CBBUK, #CelebrityBigBrother’
Mickey appears quite inconsiderate. I’m not impressed with how the other residents are handling this predicament, including Danny. It underlines a concerning mentality within some women who identify as lesbians. The blend of homophobia and misogyny is indeed astonishing.
TopMob has contacted ITV for comment.

After the performance, JoJo utilized her elimination power against Mickey. This means that Mickey will be subjected to the audience’s vote before the initial elimination.
In another part of the show, viewers and fellow residents found themselves cringing due to Mickey Rourke’s less-than-sanitary kitchen practices.

During a different segment in the episode, both fans and housemates showed signs of discomfort when they witnessed Mickey Rourke’s questionable kitchen behavior.
In the morning, Mickey was seen brushing his teeth in the kitchen sink.
Onlookers were equally puzzled as the bedroom lights suddenly illuminated, revealing Mickey slumbering in his jeans on a couch.
In another location, Big Brother cautioned the celebrity against concealing the cameras, as he donned a black t-shirt over one during his dressing process.
He was also reminded to wear his microphone at all times, after removing it to change.
Two days ago, Mickey faced criticism over his “creepy” behavior towards AJ Odudu during the unveiling of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday.
Spectators were shocked just moments after the actor’s entrance, as they witnessed him giving the ITV host, aged 37, an unsettling gaze that clearly made her uneasy.
The Wrestler star received 89 Ofcom complaints following the awkward interaction.
Fans applauded AJ’s fellow host, Will Best, for shielding AJ when he intervened and stopped Mickey from holding onto AJ’s arm forcefully.
In a composed manner, AJ politely asked the actor to “stop focusing on me” and guided him towards the exit. The actor was overheard responding, “No, I prefer staying with you.
Later on, Will emphasized, ‘Leave AJ behind!’ and subsequently was spotted holding her hand while showcasing their upcoming live segment.

Audience members similarly expressed their concern by stating: “Now, I’m worried about every woman in that household given Mickey’s behavior towards AJ during the live broadcast.
‘I needed a scandal this season and i believe mickey rourke will provide it.’
‘Oh dear. Not a fan of Mickey already after that entrance.’
‘Everyone’s joking about Mickey Rouke and I get why, but I want to be serious for a second.’
Celebrity Big Brother continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
