Mick Jagger, 82, is overjoyed with fiancée Melanie Hamrick, 38, at New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala

Mick Jagger appeared thrilled to be with his fiancée, Melanie Hamrick, at the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala on Wednesday night.

Mick Jagger, 82, looked remarkably youthful as he greeted photographers with his partner at an event held at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Melanie Hamrick totally stole the show! She’s just… radiant. And honestly, seeing her with Mick – who’s, like, a legend, of course – it’s amazing. She’s 38, which is, like, *so* young compared to him, but she looked absolutely breathtaking in this stunning red dress. It was a total showstopper, I swear!

The satin dress had a modest, high neckline in the front but a dramatic, low-cut back. Being sleeveless, it showed off her toned arms.

The dress had a long skirt that flowed to the floor, but a high slit revealed her toned legs as a dancer.

She finished her look with black open-toe heels and a red pedicure that matched her dress. She pulled her dark hair back into a relaxed bun, highlighting her beautifully applied makeup.

Mick Jagger chose a relaxed look, wearing a black and white floral shirt with an open white collar.

He paired the garment with a black velvet tuxedo jacket that had wide, pointed lapels, but he chose standard black trousers instead of matching tuxedo pants.

The famous musician kept his look casual with black Nike sneakers, but he added a touch of style with a gold bracelet.

The New York City Ballet’s annual Fall Fashion Gala will once again blend ballet and fashion. This year’s event features a new ballet by Jamar Roberts, a former choreographer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, set to music by Arca and featuring costumes by Iris van Herpen. The gala will also include performances of existing works showcasing designs by Virgil Abloh and Gianni Versace.

The performance included ballet pieces set to music by classical composers Lukas Foss and Thom Willems, alongside work from electronic musician Arca.

The Ballet’s gala was was significant for Hamrick, a former ballerina–turned–choreographer.

Originally from Williamsburg, Virginia, she began her professional ballet training with five years at the renowned Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC.

She’s famous for dancing with New York City’s American Ballet Theatre for 15 years. After retiring from performing in 2019, she began creating dances and surprised everyone with her writing skills when she published her first novel in 2023.

Mick Jagger and his partner have been together since 2014. However, it wasn’t until recently—this April—that she shared they had actually become engaged a few years prior, sometime between two and three years ago.

The couple had a son, Deveraux Octavian Basil, in 2016. He was the first child for Melanie Hamrick and the eighth for Mick Jagger.

In a September 2024 interview with the Times of London, Hamrick stated she doesn’t focus on the significant age difference between herself and her partner, despite the many years between them.

She explained that everyone will always have an opinion, and if you spend too much time worrying about what others think, you’ll constantly overthink and struggle, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe how Mick Jagger and Misty Copeland met! It was totally fate, I swear. Both the Stones and the American Ballet Theatre were touring Japan at the *same time* in February 2014. Can you imagine? It was just meant to be! They just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and honestly, it’s the stuff of legends!

Hamrick first met the famous singer backstage at a Rolling Stones concert with a friend, but they didn’t start dating until June of that year.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Mick and Melanie actually *created* a ballet together! It’s called Porte Rouge, and Melanie choreographed the whole thing – can you imagine?! – and the music? It’s all Rolling Stones songs, stuff Mick wrote with Keith Richards over the years. It’s just… perfect. I’m already obsessed!
