Michelle Williams enjoys family stroll in NYC ahead of the 16th anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death
On Sunday, actress Michelle Williams and her husband Thomas Kail took a walk around their 10.8 million dollar townhouse in Brooklyn Heights, accompanied by their two-year-old child.
Next Monday, they are preparing to honor the Emmy and Tony award-winning director, who is turning 48, a man formerly known for his role in Dawson’s Creek at the age of 44.
For four years, this married pair has kept private details about their youngest child, such as gender and name. However, they are proud parents to a 4-year-old son named Hart Kail.
Michelle had not legally ended her marriage with producer Phil Elverum prior to meeting Thomas on the set of FX’s Fosse/Verdon in 2018.
Williams cradled their wrapped infant as Kail navigated the stroller, with a cozy fleece-lined sleeping bag inserted inside the pram to keep it warm.
Five times an Oscar nominee, this individual is often seen with the help of stylist Kate Young. On this occasion, they opted for a more traditional look, wearing a white turtleneck under a black knitted sweater, paired with brown corduroy trousers and black sneakers.
On January 22nd, I’ll be reflecting on a bittersweet moment – the 16th anniversary of Heath Ledger’s passing. His legacy lives on through his daughter Matilda, who was born to Michelle during their three-year relationship that ended in 2007. He may no longer be with us physically, but his impact continues to resonate strongly within the world of cinema.
At the tender age of two, the young heiress sadly didn’t get to know the renowned Australian actor, who tragically passed at 28 due to an overdose. However, it is said that upon his death, she received a substantial inheritance worth $16.3M, along with the posthumous Academy Award he was honored with.
Heath’s cremated remains are said to be buried in Karrakatta Cemetery in his Perth hometown.
10 Things I Hate About You, a modern take on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew directed by Gil Junger, is available for viewing now by both Peacock and Disney+ subscribers. This film, starring the late Heath Ledger, grossed an impressive $53.5 million at the worldwide box office back in 1999.
In the forthcoming eight-episode series on FX titled “Dying for Sex,” Williams is set to both produce and portray the character of Molly. The cast also includes Sissy Spacek and Jenny Slate.
The character played by this Montana-born actress is a woman diagnosed with advanced metastatic breast cancer at stage IV. Instead of staying with her long-time husband, she chooses to use the remaining time in her life to investigate and address her sexuality, as well as heal from past traumas.
Based on the popular six-part podcast series “Dying for Sex,” released by Wondery in 2020, which was hosted by Nikki Boyer.
Michelle is a producer on Kimberly Peirce’s upcoming pro-choice drama, This Is Jane.
In due time, Williams is set to collaborate once more with Todd Haynes for the biographical film Fever, which focuses on Peggy Lee. This follows their previous projects together in 2007’s I’m Not There and 2017’s Wonderstruck.
On November 22nd, the producer-director of We Were the Lucky Ones completed filming for the live-action version of Disney’s 2016 animated movie Moana. This exciting adaptation, featuring Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia, is set to premiere in US cinemas on July 10th, 2026.
