Michelle Pfeiffer Reveals Shocking Truth About Val Kilmer’s Crush
Michelle Pfeiffer has spoken up about the passing of her late co-star and friend, Val Kilmer, at age 65. She was widely recognized as one of the most captivating actresses in Hollywood during a time when Kilmer found himself enamored with her charm.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram account, the 66-year-old actress honored the Hollywood icon, sharing stories from their past. However, she also admitted with openness that while he had spoken about an intimacy between them, his feelings were actually directed towards her younger sister Lori Pfeiffer, now 59 years old.
Legendary actor Val, who made indelible marks with his memorable performances in Top Gun, Batman, and The Doors, unfortunately lost his life to pneumonia following a prolonged struggle with his health, at the age of 65.
Michelle posted a monochrome picture of them hugging during the filming of the 1985 ABC after-school special “One Too Many,” accompanied by the message: ‘Rest in peace, Val [heart emoji]’.
The two had become friends after starring together in the special.
He mentioned that he’d often found it easy to converse with Michelle, and she provided an environment where he could share intimate details about his complicated parental bond.

Later on, Michelle shared with Val some details about the troubled state of her marriage to Peter Horton, which eventually led to their divorce.
or simply:
Michelle confided in Val about her rocky marriage to Peter Horton, a marriage that ended in divorce.
‘The secret pain that Michelle and I shared created an intimacy between us,’ he wrote in his book.
Val professed a deep affection for her, yet revealed he harbored a strong, all-encompassing infatuation towards her younger sister Lori, who appeared indifferent towards him, showing no signs of acknowledging his existence whatsoever.
Back in the groovy ’80s, I’ve been hearing whispers about a secret love between these two legends. Whether it was just a fleeting moment or something deeper, it’s still a fascinating mystery that has me hooked!
On November 15, 2018, Val reminisced about his relationship with Michelle and also mentioned feelings of nostalgia for Lori.
He reposted the very same picture that Michelle recently uploaded, accompanied by this caption: “#ThrowbackThursday I initially encountered Michelle via her spouse Peter and Mare Winningham, who used to be my high school sweetheart.
Working with these three exceptionally gifted individuals on our “after school special” project, reminiscent of moral tales, was nothing short of extraordinary. It served as an educational tool for children returning home from school.
Val continued by saying that his co-star was incredibly attractive, and it might have been unexpected that he harbored feelings for her younger brother or sister.

He wrote: ‘Michelle was not only stunningly beautiful and immensely talented, but also full of fun. It’s hard to believe he had a crush on Lori, Michelle’s younger sibling, rather than her!’
‘We had an amazing time together, and I can’t wait to relive those moments after so many years have passed. The story revolves around our teenage days filled with excessive drinking. And beyond that, it’s history. Mara seems to have collected about 15 Emmy awards, Michelle has at least one Oscar, and I cherish the unforgettable memories of our wild adventures in the Pecos wilderness in New Mexico. Val Kilmer’s daughter, Mercedes Kilmer (who was born to him and his former wife, Joanne Whalley), announced that Val had died from pneumonia in Los Angeles on a Tuesday.
In 2014, the screen icon received a diagnosis of throat cancer and subsequently underwent surgery that included a tracheotomy, affecting his capacity to talk. However, he was later confirmed cancer-free.
Kilmer gained fame for portraying Iceman in the blockbuster movie Top Gun (1986) and Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever (1995). Despite having a permanently damaged voice, he briefly came back to acting in 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick, where he reprised his Iceman role alongside Tom Cruise. This was his last appearance on the big screen.
The Los Angeles native also famously played musician Jim Morrison in the 1991 film The Doors.
In addition to Mercedes (aged 33), Jack Kilmer (at 29 years old) is also among those who survive him. Jack Kilmer and Mercedes share the same mother, actress Joanne, whom he was married to from 1988 to 1996.
His death was confirmed by the New York Times on Tuesday.

Kilmer received treatments that included radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and a tracheotomy – a process where an opening is made in the neck to facilitate easier breathing.
As a result, his vocal cords were severely harmed, which ultimately changed his speaking voice for good.
Kilmer reported in 2020 that he had been cancer-free for four years.
