Over the weekend, Michelle McManus shared the stage with Robbie Williams before an impressive audience of 70,000 people at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

44-year-old Scottish singer performed duet “Relight My Fire” with the Take That star, also 44, following an unexpected invitation he received from him.

On a Sunday, Michelle posted on Instagram expressing gratitude towards Robbie for his consistent acts of kindness, and she offered a glimpse into her evening’s activities.

In the video, she was noticeably preparing herself backstage prior to appearing alongside Robbie on stage, donning a vibrant, intricate red lace dress.

Michelle mentioned, “It’s only after nearly a day that I’ve been able to make sense of the events that transpired on Saturday evening at Murrayfield Stadium.

In March, it was disclosed that Michelle unexpectedly got an invitation from Robbie for her to accompany him during his global tour.

During a broadcast on her BBC Radio Scotland Afternoons program, Robbie took Michelle by surprise with an unscheduled invitation.

Michelle shared: ‘As we were wrapping up the interview, he mentioned he had a question for me.’

Initially, I assumed he was asking for suggestions about eateries in Edinburgh. But it left me surprised when he requested that I perform on stage at Murrayfield instead.

‘I actually couldn’t comprehend what he was saying.’

She admitted that she considered the action as a ‘supreme expression of kindness’, and commended his generous nature.

The artist, known for hitting No. 1 with her first single “All This Time,” expressed: ‘Compassion often goes unnoticed in individuals, yet it’s frequently attributed to men like Robbie, because of his immense kindness.’

Over the past couple of years, he’s been incredibly kind and thoughtful towards me. Not only did he extend an invitation for me to attend the premiere of his movie, “Better Man,” in Leicester Square, but he also escorted me behind the scenes after the event.

In the film I produced a few years ago focusing on the pop music scene, he was one of the participants. However, it’s important to note that he stood to gain nothing by participating in this production.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to receive acts of kindness from him, and what he did was beyond exceptional. Just granting me an interview would have been enough, but for him to go above and beyond is truly remarkable.

Although I’m not on the same level as Robbie Williams, we both faced challenges during the time following my victory on Pop Idol. He seemed to genuinely acknowledge me as a fellow figure who experienced intense media scrutiny around the same period that he did.

She stated: ‘I was informed that I was too heavy, not attractive enough, and unworthy to participate, let alone triumph, on a show such as Pop Idol.’

I believe he empathizes with individuals who’ve endured similar hardships, as he seems to relate to their experiences.

Michelle is set to team up with an exclusive circle that features stars like Kylie, Nicole Kidman, and Taylor Swift, as she becomes the most recent female celebrity to perform a duet with Robbie.

Previously, she had graced large audiences, sharing a stage with Rod Stewart during the Lisbon Lions 50th Anniversary celebration held at Glasgow’s Hydro in 2017.

Michelle, who performed for Pope Benedict in Bellahouston Park back in 2010, is now eagerly anticipating rehearsals for an upcoming summer performance in our nation’s capital city.
