Michelle Keegan’s emotionally powerful drama “Ten Pound Pom” continues to captivate audiences, as the concluding episode of season two is set to broadcast this coming weekend.
As a gaming enthusiast, let me step into the shoes of one of the characters from this series: In the ’50s, I hopped aboard a ship with a band of mates, dreaming of an exciting new life in the vast, sun-kissed lands of Australia. Yet, as we ventured forth, it became clear that our aspirations for a clean slate weren’t quite what they seemed.
In March, the second season of the BBC’s dramatic series was released. All episodes can be streamed on-demand, but viewers who tune in live each week will catch the last episode this coming Sunday, which is April 13th.
Two months post its debut, the box set persists in iPlayer’s ‘Latest and Popular’ category, having been praised as both “touching” and “thought-provoking” by reviewers.
The show has received widespread acclaim from viewers, particularly for Keegan’s portrayal of nurse Kate following the second season debut a few weeks back.

Initially, the storyline introduced us to the character of Kate, played by Keegan, who had journeyed to Australia with the aim of reuniting with her long-lost child. This child had been placed overseas by a Catholic orphanage at birth.
In the first installment, she locates her son Michael; the sequel delves into their evolving bond, as other characters confront challenges related to housing, jobs, and relationships in their fresh environment.
After watching the series opener, a fan expressed their thoughts by saying: “I watched it all in one go tonight. When does season 3 come out?” Another fan praised the show and Michelle’s performance by stating: “I adore this show and Michelle delivers her role superbly.

Though a third season of the show hasn’t been officially announced yet, Keegan hinted at a possible delay if the series continues for its third run. This is because she recently became a mother to her first child with her husband Mark Wright.
In an interview with Radio Times, Keegan expressed, “I adore this series, and I consider myself quite fortunate to be involved in it. If the viewers appreciate this season and express a desire for more, I hope that the BBC will want another installment. Count me in if they do!
Referring to her then pregnancy, she added: “There’d be a bit of a delay, yeah”.
Ten Pound Poms airs on BBC One this Sunday. All episodes are available now on BBC iPlayer.
