Michelle Keegan hints at “delay” in return of beloved BBC period drama
Michelle Keegan‘s series “Ten Pound Poms” recently began its second season, with the actor suggesting that if a third season occurs, we might need to be patient for it.
The series chronicles the journey of post-World War II British migrants settling in Australia and New Zealand, revealing a reality starkly different from the lives they had been led to believe they would find there.
The initial season debuted in May 2023, and the second season commenced last night on BBC One (with every episode available now on iPlayer). In an interview with Radio Times, Keegan and fellow cast member Faye Marsay found themselves discussing a possible third season.
The pair shared with the media outlet that they haven’t decided whether there will be a third season or not, but they are eager to work on another one if it’s possible.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my profound affection for this extraordinary show, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to contribute to its success. If the audience embraces this season with passion, leaving them yearning for more, then let’s keep our fingers crossed that the BBC will be eager for another installment. And should that opportunity arise, you can count on me being ready and willing to continue my journey with this remarkable production.
Marsay mentioned, “We need to observe if there’s interest for it and if it connects with the public.
As a gamer, I’m excited about the possibility of a third season, but there might be a delay due to some personal circumstances. Specifically, our beloved Keegan recently shared some fantastic news: she’s expecting! She made this announcement towards the end of 2024. So, while we wait for the green light, let’s send her lots of love and well wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy.
“There’d be a bit of a delay, yeah,” Keegan said when referencing her pregnancy.
Judging by the reactions on social media, it definitely looks like there’s hunger for more.
Season 2 of “Ten Pound Poms” is being broadcast on BBC One at 8 PM every Sunday evening. However, each episode is also available for viewing on iPlayer right away.
