Michelle Keegan Announces BBC Drama Series Release Date, Fans Eager for Season Two

Michelle Keagan announced the launch date for Ten Pound Poms season two through a post on Instagram over the weekend.

The 36-year-old actress posted a photo on her social media stories, announcing that the BBC series will be available on their streaming platform in March 2025, as stated by Stan Australia.

As a devoted follower, I recount the journey of a band of Britons setting sail towards a new beginning – Australia – in pursuit of a more prosperous existence, as chronicled in Ten Pound Poms.

Kate (portrayed by Michelle), Terry, and Annie seized the opportunity for a fresh start in Australia, a move that only required an investment of ten pounds.

In March, a new season of the highly praised Stan Original Series Ten Pound Poms, featuring Michelle Keegan, Faye Marsay and Warren Brown, will be available on Stan. For those in the UK, it will also air on BBC iPlayer. Stay tuned with #TenPoundPoms #StanOriginals! ☀️

Fans were delighted as the show became a huge hit after season one.

She traveled to Australia to replay her role as Kate in the popular series, with a picture of the actress portraying her character being shared by the network.

In my admiration, I couldn’t help but notice how stunningly Michelle appeared, draped in a lengthy, charcoal-hued woolen overcoat. She elegantly paired this look with a rich burgundy handbag and gloves, mirroring the same captivating shade.

Enveloping my tresses in bouncy curls, I couldn’t resist accessorizing with a sleek black beret to complement my ensemble. As I struck poses alongside my talented co-stars Faye Marsay (Annie) and Warren Brown (Terry), the beret seemed to be the perfect finishing touch for our captivating snapshot.

Warren posted on Instagram, saying: “Filming has begun! Here’s to Season 2 of Ten Pound Poms!

Fans are delighted by the news and took to the comments to say they ‘can’t wait’ to watch.

One said: ‘This is the best news! Can’t wait!’

Another said: ‘Yay’, while a third added: ‘Yay!! Looking forward to it’.

I was convinced it was only a single-season show! But I’m thrilled beyond words and can hardly wait to watch more of it, all of you included, with lots of love!

Another added: ‘Brilliant, loved the first season!’

The inaugural season of the drama, jointly produced by Eleven, Stan, and the BBC, garnered much adoration from viewers.

And the new series will pick up after the dramatic cliffhanger finale of series 1.

The upcoming series of the show will trace the journey of nurse Kate Thorne, portrayed by Michelle Keegan, along with the Roberts family, headed by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown, as they embark on their Australian adventure in 1957. Their aim is to transform this new land into the dream they envisioned for a fresh start.

‘Will Kate, Terry and Annie finally get a slice of the Australian dream they were promised?’

In the second season, viewers will meet the Skinner family, who hail from Ireland, along with the shady landlord, Benny Bates.

Danny Brocklehurst, the writer, producer, and mastermind behind it, expressed his joy upon hearing about the second season: “The enthusiastic reception from viewers towards ‘Ten Pound Poms’ was simply wonderful.

We delved into an obscure aspect of our recent past and shared tales that mirrored the authentic experiences of the genuine British immigrants who embarked on this journey.

I’m absolutely ecstatic to collaborate once more with the BBC, Stan, and Eleven as we delve deeper into the story of our characters in Australia.
