Michelle Dockery’s new action movie lands rough Rotten Tomatoes rating

The action-packed thriller starring Michelle Dockery, titled Flight Risk, has received generally disappointing feedback from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie titled “Flight Risk” narrates the tale of a skilled airline pilot (Mark Wahlberg), tasked with escorting an Air Marshal (Dockery) and a wanted criminal (Topher Grace) across the rugged landscapes of Alaska.

Nevertheless, tensions start to escalate and trust is put to the test once it’s evident that everyone aboard is indeed who they seem to be.

But as it turns out, everyone onboard is exactly who they claim to be, leading to an increase in tension and a test of trust.

Today, the movie directed by Mel Gibson hit theaters, but it’s been met with mainly unfavorable criticisms on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. As I write this, its rating stands at a lowly 24% based on 33 reviews.

Here’s what some of the critics have been saying so far:

Variety

In simpler terms, the movie directed by Mel Gibson is a raw, unoriginal, and tension-lacking adventure. The majority of its suspense comes from figuring out which of its three primary characters will become the most dislikable as the story progresses.

Vulture

Flight Risk isn’t just a poor film, but rather it fails in a more significant way. The issue lies not in its lack of intelligence, but in its incorrect choice of dumbness – the kind where everyone involved seems to lack genuine enthusiasm for the absurdity they’re creating.

Collider

While certain aspects and scenes are impactful, they are interwoven with subplots, character actions, and decisions that aren’t quite successful, which significantly undermines a potentially strong foundation.

Slant Magazine

Since Mel Gibson doesn’t seem to focus much on creating a physically engaging experience in this rather formulaic production, it’s not hard to see why they might promote the 4DX version of the film as a way to make up for it.

Daily Telegraph

The plot isn’t merely silly; it’s systematically and meticulously so, adhering to traditional thriller guidelines. Each unexpected turn is predictable yet extraordinary within the storyline.

The plot isn’t just dumb; it’s strategically and skillfully stupid, following age-old thriller principles. Every surprise twist makes sense in its own absurd way.

IndieWire

In terms of raw skill, ‘Flight Risk’ stands out as one of the most brilliant examples of mediocrity that Hollywood has offered recently.

Flight Risk is out now in cinemas.
