Michelle and Mark Wright Name Baby Palma After Their Dreamy Mallorca Love Affair!

On Wednesday, the entertainment industry was left buzzing as Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright revealed the arrival of their newborn baby, marking their first foray into parenthood together.

The delightful announcement brought about cheerful applause, as the pair, who are 37 and 38 years old, caused quite a buzz by sharing that they named their baby girl Palma, a name inspired by the beautiful Balearic Islands.

For years, the Wright Family and Michelle have cherished Mallorca, posting photos from each visit to this picturesque spot, even using it as the backdrop for their maternity photo session – before welcoming baby Palma Elizabeth Wright into their lives just a few days ago.

The clan is deeply in love with the island, as evidenced by Mark’s brother Josh and sister Jessica getting married in Mallorca. Moreover, the family’s frequent trips have resulted in a significant connection to Palma, which is the main city and seaport situated in the southwest of Mallorca.

Previously, Michelle had suggested that they aspired to own a house in the region, and their travels have been meticulously shared online. So, how did baby Palma get her name, considering their affectionately referred to ‘heaven’ as this area?

FAMILY AFFAIR

For quite some time, the Wright family has consistently chosen Mallorca as their preferred destination due to its special significance to both Mark and Michelle, making it a cherished location within their family.

In September 2021, Mark’s sister and co-star on TOWIE, Jess, exchanged vows at the Basílica de Sant Francesc in Palma, followed by an evening celebration at the Castillo de Bendinat, a Spanish castle.

At the wedding, Michelle played the role of one of Jess’ twelve bridesmaids, while Mark was the standout as the Master of Ceremonies during the reception.

In the year 2018, Mark’s younger sibling, Josh, got married in Mallorca as well. The footballer exchanged vows with Hollie Kane at La Fortaleza.

On Instagram last year, Mark posted a full-group photo featuring the Wright family and Michelle, captioned with: “I miss moments like these. Surrounded by my closest loved ones in my favorite spot. One essential member missing from this picture…

HOLIDAY HOME

In August 2021, Michelle hinted at the pair’s wish to purchase a home on the island by posting more photos from their vacation along with emoji representations of a key, a house, stars, and a heart.

She shared captivating landscape photos, a swimsuit snapshot, and a mesmerizing view of Panaderia y Pastelería Ca’n Molinas – a bakery that has been operational since 1920, providing an authentic taste of Mallorcan pastries.

The geotag simply stated ‘My Heaven’.

SWANKY RESTAURANTS

Previously, it’s been clear that Mark has a discerning palate, as he’s shared his affection for the restaurants found on the island.

In 2017, he stated that they had visited Mallorca multiple times as a pair, due to their shared affection for the island. He mentioned that their favorite romantic spot was the Cap Rocat restaurant, finding its surroundings the most enchanting backdrop for an evening meal.

Situated in Cala Blava-Llucmajor, Cap Rocat is a restaurant connected to a high-end hotel that charges £566 per night and has received numerous accolades.

A place that Mark particularly enjoys, as he shared, is Wellies restaurant in Portals Nous, which features main dishes that might cost around €48.

EXPLORING THE ISLAND

Last July, the pair made a trip to Deià, a destination that Mark described as “wonderful beyond words,” and is approximately a 43-minute drive from their cherished city of Palma.

After our blissful journey to Deià, I couldn’t help but share a flurry of captivating bikini photos the very next day. Among these were some stunning shots captured during my visit to San Telmo’s beach, yet another scorching hotspot, barely an hour’s drive from Palma.

As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about Michelle’s social media updates! Beyond the captivating beach shots and sizzling snaps, she recently gave us a peek into their cultural immersion. They were indulging in a traditional Spanish dish – a mouth-watering paella!

On his personal page, Mark shared photos from his vacation, striking various poses – some alone and others with Michelle – against a scenic backdrop of yachts. He couldn’t help but express his affection for Spain.

On their recent visit to Mallorca, the Wright family, including Mark’s close friend James Argent, found themselves on the beautiful Balearic Island. Mark posted photos from the trip with the caption, “A few days in our most beloved spot with loved ones.

WORK

Instead of confining it to vacations only, Mark skillfully blended business and leisure on several instances in the past. As recently as 2022, he capitalized on his affection for the destination to promote a partnership with travel agency TUI.

Accompanying a collection of photos from different travels, he wrote: “Of course, you’re aware that I cherish escaping, and I’ve been reflecting on some truly spectacular journeys – from Mallorca to Dubai, South Africa to Los Angeles…

‘I’m excited to announce my partnership with TUI! As a result, they are offering you an exceptional opportunity to recharge your Vitamin H by winning a fantastic travel package that includes three separate trips – as one holiday may not be enough for you!’

2017 saw Mark taking up a residency at the vibrant BH Mallorca hotel, hosting a series of exhilarating pool parties that spanned the warm summer months.

His passion for island parties is so profound that during his stint as a resident at the boisterous hotel, he was offering advice on avoiding hangovers, demonstrating the depth of his involvement in the party scene.

He advised: ‘Given how scorching hot it is in Mallorca, make sure to drink lots of water to keep yourself well-hydrated. After all, no one wants a hangover spoiling their vacation.’
