Michael Strahan welcomes his first grandchild: 'I don't feel old enough,' he says

As a seasoned movie critic with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest addition to the Strahan family is undoubtedly a blockbuster hit! Just like Michael Strahan‘s illustrious career spanning football and television, this new chapter in his life promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Morning, Grandpa Strahan! It’s announced that Michael Strahan, a co-host on ‘Good Morning America,’ has become a grandfather for the first time.

On Sunday, the ex-NFL star publicly announced that his daughter Tanita had welcomed her first child, a son named Onyx. During an episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, Strahan shared with the host that he had the pleasure of meeting the baby boy in Los Angeles for the very first time.

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news โ€“ my family has grown with the arrival of a new addition, and my heart is full! Meanwhile, there’s more reason for celebration as my daughter Isabella continues her remarkable recovery from cancer. Tune in to #FallonTonight to hear more about our journey! ๐Ÿ’™

After wrapping up work at Fox [NFL Sunday] yesterday, I headed over and was cradling him, saying, “I’m going to pamper you so much and return you to your parents,” he shared with Fallon. It’s such an incredible sensation because I still don’t feel mature enough, and people ask me what I’ll call myself. Honestly, I’m considering conducting a poll to find out.

It seems that “Grandpa” wasn’t preferred by the former defensive end, who instead proposed “Papa” and “Gap-pa” as alternatives.

On “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts warmly congratulated Michael Strahan from their seats.

On Sunday morning at 2:30 a.m., my daughter Tanita welcomed a baby boy named Onyx into the world. I’m absolutely thrilled about this new addition to our family, and I couldn’t be happier!” – Strahan shared on Tuesday.

Originating from Los Angeles, Tanita – an illustrator by profession – is Strahan’s oldest child among four. She spent parts of her life in Germany and Texas, living with Strahan’s former spouse Wanda Hutchins. As stated by People, Tanita recently became a mother to a baby boy with her partner, Calenta, according to Strahan. The ex-host of “Live With Kelly and Michael” is also the father of Michael Strahan Jr., aged 29, and twin daughters Sophia and Isabella, both 19 years old. These children were born from his second marriage with Jean Muggli, a union that ended in 2006. This year, Isabella gained media attention due to her fight against a rare form of brain cancer.

Strahan, currently promoting his latest Amazon Docuseries titled “Evolution of the Black Quarterback,” shared with Fallon that he finds Isabella exceptional.

I’m overjoyed to report that she’s now cancer-free! Oh, what a tumultuous year it’s been, but we persevered. Now, she’s not just cancer-free, she’s back pursuing her dreams in college,” I shared.
