Michael Madsen’s wife ‘broke into’ Malibu home, actor won’t be charged after arrest, lawyer says
As a seasoned cinema enthusiast with a deep appreciation for the trials and tribulations of Hollywood stars, I find myself deeply saddened by the recent events surrounding Michael Madsen. The man who portrayed the enigmatic Mr. Blonde in “Reservoir Dogs” and Virgil in Tarantino’s masterpiece, “Kill Bill,” is now entangled in a domestic dispute that seems to be more complex than any of his on-screen roles.
Michael Madsen’s legal representative is speaking out about the actor’s recent arrest at his Malibu residence, stating that there has been an ongoing issue between Madsen and his separated spouse.
Lawyer Perry Wander claimed on Friday, speaking to The Times, that DeAnna Madsen illegally entered the Malibu residence of the actor. According to him, Madsen and the actor have been separated for quite some time, and she no longer resides with “The Hateful Eight” star.
“She entered his home uninvited, and he demanded that she depart. According to him, this recurring issue has been a concern,” Wander noted.
Wander mentioned that his client is seeking a restraining order against her, as well as a divorce, but due to having a minor child, they’ve postponed these actions. Additionally, he stated that DeAnna has no intention of filing charges against the actor.
The lawyer stated that DeAnna’s emotional state has been unsteady following the suicide death of their oldest son in 2022.
“During this time, Michael has displayed incredible empathy and self-control towards his separated wife. It’s clear that he is not responsible for any acts of domestic violence, according to Wander.”
Quentin Tarantino, aged 66, and his wife, who is also 63 years old, got married in 1996. However, they have been legally separated since the passing of their 26-year-old son Hudson, a former U.S. Army sergeant and godson to Tarantino. The two share two other sons, Calvin and Luke. When Luke was 16 years old, he chose to live with his father, a decision he continues to uphold at the age of 18, according to Wander. In addition, Michael Madsen has a son named Christian from a previous relationship.
Early on Saturday morning, around 12:15 AM, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a domestic dispute at Madsen’s home in Malibu. An informant claimed that a woman said her husband had pushed her and locked her out of their house, as reported by The Times.
According to their preliminary inquiry, it appears that the Madsens were involved in a family dispute, leading to his arrest on charges of domestic violence misdemeanor. He was subsequently taken to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, processed, and released after posting a $20,000 bond at 9:12 a.m, as indicated by online jail records.
As a movie buff with years of experience following court cases in films, I can tell you that hearing an investigation is being forwarded to the Van Nuys Superior Courthouse feels like the climactic moment in a gripping thriller. Yet, in real life, it’s still just the latest chapter in the case. The lack of new details when contacting the sheriff’s information bureau again on Friday only adds to the suspense, leaving us all eagerly awaiting further developments.
By Friday morning, no accusations had been officially made. Yet, a representative from the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office stated that “an investigation is being considered.”
Based on Deanna, Mr. Madsen’s former spouse, the charges against him will be dismissed because she does not intend to press charges. There was no instance of domestic battery, as confirmed by Deanna. Nevertheless, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the case, which is routine in all domestic violence cases, according to a statement Wander made via email to The Times.
As a film enthusiast, I’ve been privy to some intimate conversations, and let me tell you, she’s adamant about avoiding a divorce, and she certainly doesn’t wish to pursue legal action against Michael. He’s got his own set of personal struggles, too. What she yearns for now is privacy – it’s just too excruciating for her to revisit the media spotlight following her son’s tragic demise.
DeAnna Madsen, 63, did not immediately respond Friday to The Times’ requests for comment.
Yet, speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, she expressed, “Michael is dealing with some personal challenges we’re all helping him navigate as much as possible. At present, we kindly ask for privacy during this difficult period.”
