Michael Jackson’s Biopic Michael From Antoine Fuqua Finally Unveils First Teaser

The first teaser trailer for the long-awaited Michael Jackson biopic has been released. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, who also directed Training Day, the film stars Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the King of Pop.

The movie about Michael Jackson’s life, which fans have been waiting for, has been delayed until April 24, 2026. Now, Lionsgate has shared a first look at the film with a new teaser trailer.

The preview begins with the iconic musician recording in the studio alongside Quincy Jones. The trailer then takes a clever turn when Jones says, “I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this. The music is finished, the songs are ready. Let’s start from the beginning.” He adds, “This is your story.”

The video then highlights Jackson’s lasting impact, showcasing images of his massive concerts, handwritten lyrics, and memorable performances. It features fans singing along while wearing his famous silver glove, and glimpses into his early years with the Jackson 5, alongside clips from his legendary music videos, including “Thriller” and footage of his 1982 hit, “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” playing in the background.

The film Michael, starring Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson himself, also features a talented cast including Miles Teller as John Branca, Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Jessica Sula as LaToya Jackson, Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy, Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe, and Kat Graham as Diana Ross.

The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic tells the story of his rise to fame and how he became the King of Pop. It offers a personal and in-depth look at the life and lasting impact of this incredibly innovative and influential artist.

The film is directed by Fuqua, based on a screenplay by John Logan. Producers include John Branca, Jackson’s attorney and estate executor, Graham King (of Bohemian Rhapsody), and John McClain, who co-executes Jackson’s estate and also produces. Justin Simen is a co-producer, and David B. Householter is the executive producer.
