Michael Jackson biopic starring King of Pop’s nephew Jaafar Jackson has release date DELAYED
As a seasoned lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the anticipation for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic starring Jaafar Jackson is nothing short of electrifying. Having witnessed the evolution of pop culture and its icons, I can confidently assert that this film promises to be a captivating journey into the life of one of the most influential artists of our time.
The much-awaited Michael Jackson biopic, featuring Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, has been delayed by a period of six months in its scheduled release.
Originally planned for a release on April 18, 2025, the movie titled “Michael” will now be premiered in theaters around October 3, 2025, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, with an earlier launch date announced this week.
In addition to Colman Domingo and Nia Long who play Jackson’s parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson respectively, the film also features Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate, and Jessica Sula in various roles.
The film is expected to cover all aspects of Jackson’s life and career, including his legal issues.
One version could be: In his past, there were two notable incidents. First, a 1993 lawsuit alleging sexual abuse of a minor, which he eventually settled. Second, a trial in Santa Barbara, California in 2005 regarding separate claims of child sexual abuse, for which he was found not guilty.
The upcoming comedy movie titled “Good Fortune,” featuring actors like Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Keanu Reeves, is set to premiere on the 17th of October, 2025.
Michael is garnering huge expectations from the studio.
At a Gabelli Media & Entertainment Symposium, Lionsgate’s global television distribution president, Jim Packer, expressed his belief that the upcoming movie could be our biggest one yet, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Packer expressed that there was a lot of excitement building up for the upcoming movie, which is being helmed by Antoine Fuqua.
Packer finds it hard to believe the excitement generated each time a new photo from this film is unveiled,” he commented, referring to the upcoming movie that follows in the footsteps of biopics about renowned musicians like Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Freddie Mercury.
During the meeting, Packer indicated that Lionsgate will prioritize intellectual properties and work on both creating and distributing films and television programs.
According to Packer, Lionsgate will primarily concentrate on intellectual properties and plan to both create and distribute film and television projects.
Recently, Jaafar, a son born to Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, has been occupied with movie production work.
He filmed scenes for the biopic last month in Los Angeles, recreating the iconic video for Thriller; in May in downtown Los Angeles; and in Encino, California in March.
In April, at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, a trailer for the movie was shown and received a significant response, according to Variety, since it was included in Lionsgate’s presentation to cinema operators.
In the preview, what sounds like Katherine Jackson’s voice can be heard saying to her son, “Some folks may see you as unusual, which could make life a bit more challenging for you.
However, you’ve always been unique in your own way, Michael. You possess a rare, radiant glow – let it illuminate the world around you.
In everyday speech, it could be rephrased as follows: ‘Offstage, everything seems strange or unfamiliar to me, like Michael Jackson’s voice might say.’
As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming cinema event, allow me to share some insights from the film’s esteemed producer, Graham King. This cinematic masterpiece promises an intimate exploration into the life of a legendary artist, whom history acknowledges as the most prolific in our collective memory. The narrative is not just a straightforward account but offers captivating layers of drama, intrigue, and emotional depth that will surely resonate with audiences.
King has spent seven years developing this movie, conducting numerous interviews along the way to gather top-notch information for his upcoming production.
The film is expected to cover all aspects of Jackson’s life and career, including his legal issues.
In his past, there were two significant incidents. Firstly, a 1993 lawsuit alleging sexual abuse of a minor, which he eventually resolved through a settlement. Secondly, in 2005, he stood trial in Santa Barbara, California, regarding separate accusations of child sexual abuse. However, in this case, he was found not guilty.
King stated that the movie would delve deeply into everything, further noting that beneath the constant examination, allegations, and glare of public attention, he was just an individual – a person with a highly complex existence.
King commented that some had suggested it might be difficult to find a suitable actor for the part, but he believes Jaafar has excelled in the role magnificently.
‘When I started out, everyone said, “You’ll never find anyone to play him,”‘ King said.
