Michael J. Fox receives heartwarming surprise with his Back to the Future cast at Rhode Island Comic Con
As a lifestyle expert, I must say that witnessing the camaraderie and love shared by the cast of Back to the Future at the Rhode Island Comic Con was nothing short of heartwarming. Michael J. Fox, diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in the early 1990s, continues to inspire us all with his resilience, grace, and humor. It is truly remarkable to see him not only embracing his past but also reminiscing on a project that has become an iconic part of cinema history.
Michael J. Fox got a standing ovation at the Rhode Island Comic Con on Sunday, November 3.
63-year-old actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in the 1990s, joined forces on stage with his Back to the Future co-star, Lea Thompson, as they strolled arm-in-arm, as reported by People.
Also there was their film’s co-stars Christopher Lloyd and Thomas F. Wilson.
At Comic Con, the actors held a question-and-answer session regarding the cherished movie that was launched in 1985, along with its two highly successful follow-ups that premiered in 1989 and 1990.

Michael starred as teenager Marty McFly in the science fiction movie.
During the Comic Con, Michael looked back on the project – almost four decades after its release.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess that I was initially unaware of the extraordinary journey I had embarked upon, for I found myself utterly captivated by one of the rare cinematic masterpieces.
Lea, the actress portraying Lorraine, Marty’s mother, expressed her awe upon initially reading the script, describing it as ‘simply fantastic.’
Upon reading the script,” she said, “I was completely taken aback. From that point on, I felt there was something extraordinary about it.
Lea said she feels ‘lucky’ that she was part of the project.
The message in the movie that small actions do end up causing changes is ‘one of the reasons I think the movie does resonate deeply with people,’ Lea said.

In 2023, it was disclosed that Michael and his fellow actor Christopher developed a strong bond following their work together on the Back to the Future sequel in 1990.
He shared with Variety, “I wanted to witness his passion for acting, something I hadn’t felt before. I believe I am quite mysterious.
The stars have previously reunited for the film, much to the delight of fans.
Michael was diagnosed in 1991 at age 29 with Parkinson’s Disease; he went public with it in 1998.
