In the United Kingdom, the critically-disparaged horror sequel titled Jaws: The Revenge, which features Michael Caine, has secured a new platform for streaming.
In the 1987 film, which is the fourth installment of the famous series, Caine takes on the role of Hoagie Newcombe, a pilot who flies Ellen Brody (played by Lorraine Gary), a woman weary from her experiences, to the Bahamas. Upon their arrival, they are startled to find out that a lethal great white shark has trailed them to the island.
In the UK and Ireland, the direct sequel to the 1978 movie “Jaws 2,” titled “Jaws: The Revenge,” has just been made available for streaming on Prime Video. If you enjoy watching creature features, this could be an excellent choice for your next watch!
Regardless of featuring a prominent actor like Caine in the main part, Jaws: The Revenge was generally criticized upon its debut and has since earned a reputation as a poorly-received film, demonstrated by its low approval rating of just 2% on Rotten Tomatoes from 44 reviews.
The review on the site states that “Jaws: The Revenge” is a disappointing addition to a formerly distinguished series, being inconsistent, devoid of tension, and featuring cheap special effects. Meanwhile, The Washington Post described it as “unfortunate.

In simpler terms, Common Sense Media criticized the film, labeling it as “dull” and “superfluous”, whereas Film Authority praised it, referring to it as an “outstanding example” of the “so-bad-it’s-good” movie genre.
Additionally, it garnered disapproval from the general public, with a nearly identical poor rating of 3.1/10 on IMDb based on more than 52,000 reviews. One viewer, in particular, was highly critical, labeling it “stunningly bad” and considering it Michael Caine’s most disappointing performance.
A puzzled onlooker commented, “I’m utterly bewildered. It’s hard to fathom what those responsible for this chaos had in mind when creating Jaws: The Revenge. By the end of the movie, I was left with more queries than solutions.

One fan expressed their disapproval by saying, “If there’s any evidence that supports the law of diminishing returns, it’s clear in the fourth installment of the Jaws series.” They went on to describe it as “terrible,” while another viewer declared it as one of the “worst” movies they had ever encountered.
If courtroom thrillers are more your style compared to monster movies, then you might find Prime Video suitable for you with the movie “A Few Good Men” from 1992, featuring Tom Cruise and Demi Moore. However, be quick as this legal drama is about to disappear from the streaming platform soon.
Jaws: The Revenge is streaming on Prime Video now.
