The return of Dexter Morgan with ‘Dexter: Resurrection‘ has brought back the success the show previously enjoyed, ending a short period without awards recognition.
After a hugely successful first season on streaming, positive reviews, and a quick renewal by Paramount, Dexter: Resurrection is now being recognized with major award nominations. The series received six Saturn Award nominations on January 27th – more than any other TV show this year.

The popular crime series has received several nominations for the 2026 Saturn Awards. These include Best Thriller Television Series, with acting nominations for Jack Alcott (Best Supporting Actor), Uma Thurman (Best Supporting Actress), Michael C. Hall (Best Actor), and guest stars Peter Dinklage and David Dastmalchian.

The Dexter franchise has consistently been recognized with Saturn Award nominations for Best Television Series and Best Actor (Michael C. Hall), except for the one Dexter series where Hall didn’t star. While both Dexter and Dexter: New Blood received nominations, the 2024 prequel, Dexter: Original Sin, didn’t receive any nominations at all.
After Paramount cancelled Original Sin, Dexter: Resurrection brought the franchise back into contention for Saturn Awards, achieving a record number of nominations. Michael C. Hall has now been nominated nine times for Best Actor in a Television Series for his portrayal of Dexter Morgan, and he won the award in 2007.
Beyond Michael C. Hall’s accolades, including his 2007 win, Dexter was a frequent winner of Saturn Awards during its original broadcast. The show earned awards for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series in 2008, and recognized individual performances with wins for Jimmy Smits (Best Guest Starring Role, 2009), Jennifer Carpenter (Best Supporting Television Actress, 2009), Julie Benz (Best Supporting Television Actress, 2010), and Yvonne Strahovski (Best Guest Starring Role, 2013).
Despite receiving four Saturn Award nominations in 2022 – for Best Action-Thriller Series, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Performance by a Younger Actor – the Dexter: New Blood revival series didn’t win any of the prizes.
The thriller series Dexter: Resurrection has received six award nominations, building excitement as filming for season 2 is scheduled to start in April. Although Paramount+ hasn’t announced a release date yet, the show’s creator, Clyde Phillips, has stated that season 2 will likely premiere in October 2026.
The Saturn Awards will be broadcast live on March 8, 2026, only a month before production begins on season two of Dexter: Resurrection.
