Michael B. Jordan’s popular vampire movie, Sinners, is coming to Prime Video. The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, has been praised by critics and did well in theaters, and will soon be available for streaming. As the streaming release date gets closer, more people are becoming interested in seeing it.
Sinners begins streaming on Prime Video in December
The new movie Sinners will be available to stream on Prime Video starting December 26, 2025. It was first released digitally on June 3 and in theaters on April 18 (according to ComicBook.com). Ryan Coogler directed, wrote, and produced the film, and Michael B. Jordan plays the lead roles of identical twin brothers, Elijah “Smoke” and Elias “Stack” Moore.
The movie takes place in Mississippi in 1932 and centers on twin brothers who return to Clarksdale to start a nightclub for the local African American community. Their new venture quickly attracts the interest of otherworldly beings, including an Irish vampire named Remmick. The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo.
Ryan Coogler’s production company, Proximity Media, created the film Sinners, which Warner Bros. Pictures won the rights to distribute after a highly competitive bidding process. Filming took place in Louisiana between April and July 2024, utilizing advanced IMAX 15-perf and Ultra Panavision 70 cameras. Notably, Autumn Durald Arkapaw made history as the first woman to shoot a feature film using large format IMAX cameras.
The movie Sinners debuted at AMC Lincoln Square on April 3, 2025, and went on to gross $367 million worldwide. Critics loved it, with a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a Metacritic score of 84. Audiences also gave it high marks, awarding it an “A” grade from CinemaScore.
The film combines the eerie atmosphere of Southern Gothic stories with horror and music, and blues music is central to the plot. Composer Ludwig Göransson created the score using a vintage 1932 Dobro guitar and collaborated with musicians like Cedric Burnside and Brittany Howard, recording the music live with them.
The film was highly acclaimed, winning awards like the Critics’ Choice Super Award for Best Horror Movie and Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), and a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Director (Ryan Coogler). It was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
