It’s common for people to cry while watching movies – some are easily moved, while others only tear up occasionally. Michael B. Jordan has admitted to crying during films, but I was surprised to hear which movie affected him so much.
Many people were moved to tears by Michael B. Jordan’s film, Sinners, and surprisingly, Jordan himself cried while watching it. This really speaks to the emotional impact of the movie. But it’s also notable that Jordan often cries when watching films – he’s shared a few other instances where a movie has brought him to tears. Here’s what he said…
I’m a pretty emotional person – I cried while watching the movie Sinners, and even while it was being made! The movie Armageddon always gets to me, and I definitely shed some tears during that one. More recently, the final season of My Hero Academia really hit me hard, especially when Bakugo finally received recognition from someone he’s looked up to since the beginning. It was a really touching scene.
I was genuinely surprised to hear Michael B. Jordan say that Armageddon is a movie that makes him cry. It’s well-known the film is emotionally impactful – I remember seeing it on opening night and witnessing many people leave the theater in tears. Even then, I had a feeling something sad was going to happen.
Michael B. Jordan is clearly a big fan of the movie Armageddon. Even though it came out almost 30 years ago, he says it’s the one film that always makes him cry, and he’s seen it countless times.
If you haven’t seen Armageddon, the part that likely made Jordan cry happens at the very end. The team is trying to drill into an asteroid and realizes someone has to manually detonate the bomb that will save Earth. At first, Ben Affleck’s character is chosen for the dangerous task, but Bruce Willis steps in so his daughter can be with the man she loves. The emotional goodbye between Willis and his daughter is famously tear-jerking – it’s said no one in the audience could keep from crying.
While most people now probably remember Armageddon for Ben Affleck’s funny commentary on the DVD, it’s actually a really good movie that I need to watch again. It’s one of Michael Bay’s strongest films, full of amazing action and surprisingly emotional scenes. If you’re looking for a movie that will make you cry, this could be a good choice.
