Mexican singer Dulce La Cantante passes away at age 69 after health complications
As a devoted admirer of Dulce La Cantante, I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing at the age of 69. Her voice and talent have brought joy to countless lives for decades, and her legacy will continue to live on through her music.
Sweet Singer, Dulce La Cantante, sadly passed away at the age of 69 after experiencing health difficulties. Her loved ones announced this heartbreaking news on Christmas Day.
On the Instagram account of the deceased singer, it was announced by those close to her that she had passed away. They kindly asked for solitude during this time as they grieve her loss.
Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas, better known as Dulce, gained fame through popular songs like “Dejame Volver Contigo” (1982) and “Soy Tu Dama” (1985).
In a post on Facebook, Isabel Noeggerath, her sister, shared the news of the performer’s demise and wrote, ‘Sis, now you’re joining Mother in heaven, serenading her with your songs. I will dearly miss you; may you find peace, my love always remains.’
According to producer Omar Suarez, Televisa Espectaculos, and reporter Mario Manjarrez (as reported by Hola.com), the star has indeed passed away.
‘We know that the singer passed away early this morning,’ he stated.
Her lung problems had been persistent, and she was under a robust medication schedule. However, as the time of her passing approached, this regimen seemed to exacerbate her condition, especially because of severe kidney complications caused by intensive treatments.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my deep concern over the mysterious circumstances surrounding Dulce’s passing. Earlier this month, she was unfortunately hospitalized, leading to the postponement of several of her much-anticipated performances.
At the specified moment, updates appeared on her primary Instagram page. In her own words, she expressed, “To my dear friends, press, and well-wishers, I wish to disclose that due to medical guidance, I have been admitted to a hospital for addressing a health matter that requires attention and rest.
‘I am at peace, in good hands, and hopeful for a full recovery,’ she continued to her followers.
After being admitted to the hospital a few weeks prior to Christmas, she had a surgical procedure known as pulmonary decortication of the chest cavity.
The operation is a ‘procedure that involves the removal of the pleura, the thin membrane covering the lungs, and any visible tumor masses from the lung surface,’ per Yale Medicine.
The operation is designed to maintain lung health, addressing conditions like malignant pleural mesothelioma and long-term pleural infections.
According to the steps they’ve outlined, they plan to post on social media: ‘She’s making progress, but it will take some time for her full recovery. However, there’s a good chance she could be released from the hospital soon.’
‘The message ended with a heartfelt thank you for the outpouring of affection, encouragement, and goodwill we’ve been shown.’
Dulce hails from Matamoros, a city in Mexico, and she recently marked her 69th birthday, which fell in July this past summer.
Later on, she relocated to Monterrey for her psychology studies, and ultimately became part of a band known as Toby and His Friends during the early 1970s.
According to the Latin Times, the star received backing from singer José José for her solo venture and participated in a contest known as the Festival de Mallorca.
In a performance that ultimately earned her accolades, Dulce sang the song “Senor Amor” by Armando Manzanero. She went on to receive awards for Best Song, Best Performer, and was also titled the Most Photogenic Singer.
Later on, she produced numerous hits during the 1980s, including Soy Una Dama and Dejame Volver Contigo. In 2014, this famous artist unveiled her song Tu Muñeca.
On several instances, she not only gained recognition through her singing but also appeared before the camera.
I’m absolutely thrilled to have been a part of the mesmerizing Netflix reality series, Siempre Reinas (Forever Queens), sharing the spotlight with the legendary Lorena Herrera, the graceful Lucia Mendez, the captivating Rosa Gloria Chagoyan, and the charismatic Olivia Collins. What an incredible experience!
Apart from that, Dulce also demonstrated her acting prowess in several TV shows, one of them being “Vencer La Culpa” released in 2023.
In my fervent enthusiasm, I can’t help but share that not only have I graced the stage, but I’ve dived headfirst into roles in extraordinary projects such as “Mundo de Fieras” (2006) and “Las Vias del Amor” (2002).
