Metal Slug Tactics is Out Now For Xbox Game Pass
As a seasoned gamer with decades of arcade-style mayhem under my belt, I must say that the release of Metal Slug Tactics is a momentous occasion for us old-school run ‘n’ gun aficionados! With its grid-based strategy twist and an impressive roster of characters from across the Metal Slug games, this game brings a fresh take to a classic franchise that I’ve followed since my arcade days.
Developer Dotemu and Leikir Studio have introduced a new grid-based strategy game titled Metal Slug Tactics, which is based on SNK’s famous run ‘n’ gun arcade series. This exciting venture boasts 100 meticulously crafted pixel art maps, twenty diverse mission types, and a rich assortment of characters drawn from various Metal Slug games.
In the latest preview, we see robotics expert Nadia Cassel and Trevor Spacey, a ninja with mind-control abilities from the Peregrine Falcons Squad, being added as playable characters. They join in the struggle against General Morden’s forces. As you engage in combat, you’ll earn experience points (XP) which can be used to acquire new powers, weapon modifications, and additional features. However, it’s crucial to focus on strategic positioning for success.
Metal Slug Tactics has been released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (through Game Pass), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game is priced at $24.99/£20.99/€24.99. You can watch the launch trailer below or read our Metal Slug Tactics review for more information.
