Met Gala Drama: Celebrity Stylist Dragged Away by Police Before Red Carpet

The individual who was hastily escorted from the Carlyle Hotel before this past Monday’s Met Gala has been recognized, and it turns out she is a well-known celebrity stylist.

On Tuesday, it was revealed by Page Six that the individual who claimed to have been roughly handled by a New York Police Department officer is in fact renowned celebrity stylist Jessica Paster.

Initially, a video of an unexpected incident was published on DailyMail.com, showing Paster trying to gain access to the hotel where celebrities attending the New York City Met Gala and their entourages usually stay prior to the event. However, he was prevented from entering by security and law enforcement officers at the main entrance.

The clash between Paster and the police became a prominent topic of conversation among Met Gala attendees later in the evening, given that she was styling numerous celebrities such as Simone Biles (Olympic gymnast), Quinta Brunson (star and creator of Abbott Elementary), and Miranda Kerr (model).

DailyMail.com has contacted Paster and a representative for the Carlyle Hotel to request comment.

On Tuesday, a representative from the NYPD communicated with DailyMail.com that the following transpired: Around the afternoon of yesterday, a woman tried to gain access through the primary entrance of The Carlyle Hotel. However, her entry was prevented by the hotel’s security personnel.

The woman, who had initially been refused access to the hotel, tried again later. Officers intervened when they saw this, preventing her from entering. They informed her that she should use the service entrance and obtain the necessary authorization. The police escorted her to the service entrance, and then hotel security took over, leading her back to the main entrance, where she was eventually allowed inside.

The confrontation between Paster and the law enforcement officers took place, while crowds of spectators accumulated outside the Carlyle Hotel, eagerly waiting to see stars attending or departing from the Met Gala, either dressing up or showing off their lavish outfits nearby.

However, a real-time broadcast from the hotel’s entrance revealed a lady, subsequently recognized as Paster, assertively declaring, “I will be lodging here!

A woman wearing a gray tracksuit was observed being forcefully held back by police near the hotel’s security checkpoint, as she attempted to push her way inside.

Instead of shouting at the guards and staff at a smaller side door on her left, she attempted to force her way through to the bigger revolving door, but was stopped by two NYPD officers who then started escorting her away.

A woman, seemingly a hotel worker, hurriedly escorted the Pastor inside the hotel, while the hairdresser stepped out again to capture a photo of one of the two police officers who had momentarily detained her.

She was quite angry at the moment,” she grumbled while looking for the second officer to capture a photo with them, eventually being guided into the lobby.

According to what Paster later explained to Page Six, she was merely adhering to the rules for entering the hotel. However, she claims that the police failed to verify if she actually belonged there, instead of approaching her.

She asserted that she was merely a guest at the hotel, going about her own affairs, wearing a pass on her wrist. However, she was roughly handled, she declared.

The stylist explained that she had been acting according to instructions given by others, who had pointed her towards the service entrance. However, she was subsequently instructed to return to the lobby instead.

She claimed that, quite unexpectedly, they assaulted her, roughly handling her. However, she mentioned that she wore a wristband ID which, in theory, would alert security that she had permission to gain entry.

According to Paster, she experienced considerable discomfort or severe distress after the reported incident involving the police left her hurt.

‘[The police officer] is lucky she didn’t break my arms,’ she said.

The aide added that the publication should expect similar reactions from anyone who was suddenly seized unexpectedly, having been guided by directions previously given.

Based on reports, the unidentified figure known as Paster became a significant talking point among Met Gala guests due to her prominence within the industry and her frequent collaborations with top-tier celebrities.

‘Literally everyone was sending it to each other,’ they claimed.
