Meryl Streep to star in Netflix’s ‘The Corrections’ series adaptation

Netflix will be adapting Jonathan Franzen’s acclaimed 2001 novel, “The Corrections,” into a television series.

I was so excited to hear that Netflix just bought the rights to “The Corrections”! It’s a project that’s been floating around for a while, starting development back in 2024, and now it’s finally happening. Even better, Netflix is ordering it straight to series, which means they’re skipping the pilot episode and getting right to making the full show – so we’ll probably see it much sooner than expected!

Meryl Streep, who has won three Academy Awards, will be the lead actress in a new limited series. Cord Jefferson, the director of “American Fiction,” will direct, and the series is based on a script by Franzen.

Entertainment & Arts

Meryl Streep’s nephew shared a story about how the famous actress personally handled evacuating her home when fires broke out in Los Angeles County.

Netflix describes “The Corrections” as a funny and poignant story about a family in the Midwest. The three adult children are struggling with their own lives and reluctantly agree to one last Christmas with their mother, despite their personal issues and attempts to avoid repeating their parents’ mistakes.

“Time to pack, get some decorations, and brace ourselves for the usual family drama,” the streamer joked.

Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series, “The Corrections,” is based on Jonathan Franzen’s award-winning novel, originally published 25 years ago. Franzen famously finished writing the book while blindfolded. Previous efforts to adapt the novel for television, including an HBO project with Noah Baumbach directing and Ewan McGregor and Greta Gerwig starring, fell through because the book’s complex storytelling proved difficult to capture on screen.

A release date has yet to be announced.

Books

To mark the 30th anniversary of the L.A. Times Festival of Books, we invited authors, editors, critics, and scholars to each choose the 30 best fiction books published since the festival began.

Meryl Streep recently voiced characters in the popular films “Hoppers” and “Project Hail Mary.” Fans can also look forward to seeing her reprise her role in the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada,” which will be released in theaters on May 1st.

Okay, folks, get excited! I’m hearing Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all returning for the sequel! And this is big news – remember how the first movie finally got the Anna Wintour stamp of approval? That was a game-changer, and it seems like they’re building on that momentum. I’m already anticipating a stylish and captivating follow-up.
