Meryl Streep seen for the first time on set of Devil Wears Prada 2 and fans are all saying the same thing
For the very first time, Meryl Streep made an appearance on the set where her highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2006 hit “The Devil Wears Prada” is being filmed.
In the initial film, she mesmerized spectators with her portrayal of the formidable fashion editor Miranda Priestly, a character said to be modeled on the influential figure, Anna Wintour, who has recently stepped down from her position at Vogue.
The original book was a veiled autobiography written by Lauren Weisberger, who once worked for Anna Wintour, with the character Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway in the movie adaptation, serving as a fictional representation of herself.
It was announced back in July that a sequel was being developed, and since then, it has been verified that Anne and Meryl will be reprising their original characters.
As I find myself stepping into the vibrant streets of New York City, I can’t help but feel the exhilaration of taking on a new role – that of the formidable editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine. At 76, it seems age is just a number as I dive headfirst into this exciting project!
People rushed to social media to express their amazement at how little change she appears to have undergone, given that over twenty years have passed since the initial film was released.
One commented, “She looks exactly the same as she did years ago,” while another observed, “In comparison to her appearance in 2005, she seems to have aged only slightly over time.” A third expressed excitement by saying, “She is still absolutely stunning!!!!!
This week, by posting simultaneous photos of Meryl from the original film and the set of the latest production, an amazed X user exclaimed: “This is unbelievable!
The admiration of the actress burst forth in a flurry of compliments, exclaiming things like “Iconic”, “Oh my goodness!”, “Miranda, you’re back!”, “She looks fantastic”, and even “Dios mio!!! The queen is back.
This week, as Meryl appeared on the set of the latest movie, she bore a striking resemblance to Miranda Priestly from 2006, complete with a cascade of snow-white tresses.
Apart from her usual sunglasses, Miranda was also donning a pair, a habit she picked up from Anna Wintour. Wintour herself confessed that she uses sunglasses as a sort of protective shield or armor.
The costume accentuated her slender silhouette beautifully, with its brown leather pencil skirt and low-cut violet top.
The group coordinated their outfits, with a sleek camel-colored coat and fiery orange heels, enhancing Merly’s tallness at 5 feet 6 inches.
