Okay, let me tell you, fashion week is *always* buzzing, but Saturday took it to another level! Everyone completely lost it when Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci showed up front row at the Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan. It was such a fun, unexpected moment and honestly, they looked amazing! It just proves that great style truly knows no bounds.
The actors were shooting scenes for the highly awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada and effortlessly fell back into the roles they played in the original 2006 movie.
Meryl Streep, 76, is once again playing the iconic Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of ‘Runway’ magazine, and she looked incredibly stylish while doing so. She wore black, well-fitted trousers with very high heels.
She wore a striking tan coat with a leopard-print belt and finished the look with bold yellow sunglasses.
Meryl carried a leopard-print clutch and happily sported her character’s signature side-swept bob, much to the delight of everyone present.
She walked confidently onto the crowded stage and found her seat, appearing unbothered by the enthusiastic cheers and applause of the audience who were thrilled to see the character she played – a famous magazine editor.
Behind her walked Stanley, 64, who once again embodied fan-favourite Nigel.
He looked dapper in a blue three-piece suit, with a patterned tie, smart shoes and sunglasses.
When the Dolce & Gabbana show began, the two were once again spotted watching and enjoying the fashion presentation.
The next installment is scheduled to come out in May 2026, marking the 20th anniversary of the first film’s huge success.
Although the exact storyline is still under wraps, the show is expected to center around Miranda as she deals with the challenges facing the print magazine industry.
Sources say she’ll likely ask her old assistant, Emily (played by Emily Blunt and now a high-ranking executive at a luxury brand), for help landing important advertising contracts.
Oh my gosh, when the first movie dropped, everyone was *certain* Emily’s character was totally based on Victoria ‘Plum’ Sykes, that amazing fashion writer from Vogue! Plum keeps saying it’s not true, but honestly, the similarities are just too much to ignore. I’ve spent *hours* comparing them, and it’s clearly her! It’s just… obvious!
The character of Miranda Priestly is widely believed to be based on Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue. Wintour recently announced she will be leaving her position after 37 years.

The film *The Devil Wears Prada* was a huge success, but it became more than that – it really entered the cultural zeitgeist. Meryl Streep’s portrayal of Miranda Priestly became instantly famous, and the movie inspired a whole generation to become fascinated with fashion, even just repeating the line, ‘That’s all.’
The highly anticipated sequel is set to release in May 2026, marking two decades since the original film first captivated audiences. That first movie was a massive success, earning over $326 million worldwide despite being made with a relatively small budget of $35 to $41 million, and quickly became a cultural touchstone.
As a lifestyle expert, I always appreciate a truly standout performance, and this film certainly delivered! It was a critical success, earning two Academy Award nominations – and Meryl Streep was phenomenal, even winning a Golden Globe for her role in it. It’s a classic for a reason!
The show received five BAFTA nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, and it became one of the most memorable comedies of the 2000s.

David Frankel will direct the sequel, and Aline Brosh McKenna is returning to write the script, just as they did for the first movie.
The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger and was published in 2003.
The book was a New York Times bestseller for six months and sparked rumors that it was based on the author’s previous employer, someone she’d worked for less than a year.
The story has been adapted into a musical featuring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly, with music composed by Elton John.
