Melissa Leong hints that she will lift the lid on MasterChef in new book amid rumours she could return to the cooking show
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for detail and a heart for storytelling, I am thrilled to hear about Melissa Leong‘s upcoming memoir. With her rich background in food criticism, UFC passion, and intriguing experiences on MasterChef Australia, this book promises to be a captivating read that offers a rare glimpse into the life of one of Australia’s most dynamic personalities.
The behind-the-scenes stories from MasterChef are sure to be the highlight for many fans, as they have always wondered about the drama that unfolds off-camera. Melissa’s cryptic reply about ‘a bunch’ of stories suggests that we are in for a wild ride! The addition of recipes and insights into her career journey will make this book a must-have for anyone interested in food, entertainment, or personal growth.
That being said, I am curious to know what Melissa considers as off-limits in the book. Will we finally get to hear about the infamous blow-up with the hair and makeup team? Only time will tell!
Lastly, I can’t help but wonder if this memoir will include any tips on how to handle a freelance hairstylist gone rogue – just in case I find myself in such a predicament one day! After all, who knows what secrets the world of cooking competitions holds?
In jest, I can only imagine that Melissa will include a chapter titled “The Art of Perfect Plating: A Guide to Avoiding Kitchen Catastrophes” – complete with step-by-step instructions for handling everything from wayward hairstylists to overly ambitious contestants!
As a lifestyle enthusiast eager to share insights, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll soon be revealing the behind-the-scenes tales of my MasterChef Australia journey in an upcoming book publication.
43-year-old food critic once graced the judging panel of a popular Channel 10 culinary contest for three consecutive years, however, stepped down recently during an extensive change in hosting duties.
Since then, she has become a judge on the spin-off series Dessert Masters, and there have been persistent whispers that she might reappear on MasterChef.
I find it fascinating to hear about Melissa’s upcoming memoir, as she has undoubtedly amassed a wealth of experiences during her time on MasterChef. Her career journey is one that I eagerly anticipate learning more about, and I can’t wait to read her book once it’s published.
On Friday, Melissa posed a question on her Instagram Stories, asking followers what topic they’d be interested in for her upcoming book, which sparked a variety of suggestions.
A zealous spectator inquired whether any ‘backstage tales from MasterChef’ would be featured, to which Melissa confirmed they would.
‘Oh there are a bunch, don’t you worry,’ she teased in a cryptic reply.
Additionally, she disclosed that she plans to delve into various facets of her profession, such as her less-acknowledged enthusiasm for UFC. Moreover, each chapter will feature a culinary recipe as well.
Instead, Melissa asked her followers to respect boundaries regarding areas of her life she has previously decided not to discuss, implying that certain topics might be excluded from her upcoming book.
In my previous post, I made clear certain boundaries that I won’t cross. Therefore, it wouldn’t be right or fair to you or me if we delve into those topics. Let’s focus on other things instead.
Appreciate your queries very much! Furthermore, I believe everything is covered, however, your questions give me valuable insight into where I should concentrate my response.
Following the whispers about her potential comeback to MasterChef Australia, her latest intriguing endeavor has emerged.
Last year, Melissa ended her involvement in the program amidst whispers of a perceived conflict with her ex-co-host Andy Allen, who continues to act as a judge.
According to a TV source, Melissa indicated to Ten that she plans to return to MasterChef Australia once Andy Allen steps off the show.
It appears that the concept of going back to how the show originally was might be quite challenging for her. In fact, Melissa may consider a comeback only if the entire structure or approach of the show were changed significantly.
Fans were taken aback when Melissa announced her resignation on Instagram a day prior to Network Ten’s 2024 Upfronts presentations.
She had always intended to welcome the transition with open arms, and I’m thrilled to make it happen according to my preferences, today, is what she wrote in a statement back in October.
Melissa left the company after rumors spread that her dismissal was due to several personal conflicts off-stage, which became widely known.
In 2022, she notoriously had a heated argument with both the regular and temporary hairstylists on the show’s makeup and hair crew.
According to the source, Andy doesn’t have any issues with Leong. However, it was mentioned that Andy had criticized his ex-colleague for spending too much time on hairstyling and makeup in the past.
‘He felt her control over what was filmed was compromised by her perfectionism.’
This year, Andy was back on the show, accompanied by three fresh judges: renowned food personality Poh Ling Yeow, celebrated Michelin-starred chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, and critically acclaimed Melbourne food critic Sofia Levin.
Since then, Melissa has assumed the position of co-judge on the spin-off series of MasterChef titled Dessert Masters, working alongside renowned French-Swiss pastry chef Amaury Guichon.
