Melissa Leong doesn’t look like this anymore! Masterchef star unveils shock transformation after ‘having a mental health crisis’

Melissa Leong surprised her followers with a striking new appearance, sharing that it happened while she was navigating a personal mental health challenge.

Former MasterChef Australia judge, 43, recently debuted a stylish new bob haircut on social media. She shared that she decided to cut her hair during a challenging period in her life.

Melissa shared a video of her new, bold haircut and jokingly suggested that while she wouldn’t directly advise anyone going through a tough time to make a drastic change, she wasn’t exactly discouraging it either.

In the clip, the TV star leaned into the camera to flaunt her transformation

I always admire her style! She just got a haircut, and it looks amazing paired with her makeup – really natural and glowing, with bronzed skin, shiny lips, and perfectly defined brows. It’s such a beautiful, put-together look.

The big change comes after Melissa opened up about her upcoming memoir Guts.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, she admitted the book had forced her to confront some painful truths.

She explained that the book contains surprising developments and includes personal stories she’s never revealed to the public before.

Parts of it are serious and address issues that are still important today, particularly for women.

Melissa acknowledged the writing process was challenging, but she believed it would be ultimately beneficial for her emotional well-being.

She admitted it had been a challenging experience, and she anticipated it would be hard to discuss publicly while promoting her book.

I’m dedicated to working through this challenging time, as I believe it will ultimately benefit others, and I’m hopeful it will also lead to my own personal growth.

Last year, Melissa worried her fans when she posted an unedited photo of herself crying in her car while beginning work on the audiobook for her book, Guts.

She shared that today was a challenging day because she began recording the audiobook of her memoir. She admitted that sharing some of her personal stories aloud with people she doesn’t know felt like the hardest thing she’d ever done.

I understand it’s too early to discuss this openly, but I want to send strength and support to anyone going through a difficult time. Please know you’re not facing this alone, and I’m reminding myself of that too.

Melissa finished with an optimistic message, explaining that she doesn’t usually share personal struggles, but wanted to remember this day as the moment she took back control of her life and her narrative.

Her famous friends immediately offered support in the comments, with publicist Adriana Glass commending her bravery, saying, ‘It takes a lot of courage to share something like this, and it’s important that she did.’

Melissa was a judge on MasterChef for three years, but she left the show in 2023 when Channel 10 made significant changes to its hosting lineup.

She’s now appearing on Dessert Masters, and there’s been a lot of talk about her possibly coming back to the original show.
