Melissa Joan Hart’s Date Disaster Revealed: Rocker Mark Hoppus Spills on Their ‘Awful’ Night Out!

It’s unlikely that Melissa Joan Hart will take kindly to the revelation by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus about their less than successful dating experience, which he described as ‘not great’.

In his recently published work titled “Fahrenheit-182”, the 53-year-old musician from Blink-182 recounts an challenging encounter he had with the actress from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, who is now married to Mark Wilkerson. She is currently 48 years old.

In his memoir, he reminisced that they first crossed paths at the Teen Choice Awards, and apparently, he caught her attention as her publicist contacted his label’s publicist to exchange phone numbers. This was just a typical way of courting each other.

In our conversation, I tried to act casual. “Wow, great! I’ll be in Los Angeles filming my latest music video, so let’s have dinner once I finish. I thought I was being smooth using Hollywood terms, but I’m not sure it made an impact. She has been famous for a long time, while I’m still relatively new to the spotlight.

According to what Entertainment Weekly posted, he continued with this statement: ‘Melissa and I visited a sushi place in the Valley. It turned out to be a disappointing date. She was really pleasant, but there wasn’t much of a spark between us.’

Hoppus chalked it up to the actress not being relatable, as her life centered around her career.

He shared that every aspect of her existence seemed centered on acting, making it challenging for him to connect with her about other topics.

He pointed out with examples: “He would inquire about her preferred cuisine beyond sushi, to which she’d reply, ‘Typically, I consume whatever catering offers on set.’

‘I inquired about her favorite books, to which she responded that she mostly reads scripts for her job. From my point of view, our conversation seemed to revolve only around music, and it turned out we didn’t have much in common. It was a difficult situation.’

Hart even brought him back to her house after dinner, giving him a tour of her impressive digs.

Following our meal, she guided me to her residence where she gave me a tour. Her home was a stunning abode situated close by, boasting a breathtaking city view and a spacious outdoor hot tub.

He believed she was subtly suggesting a bath together. However, he informed her about his early performance schedule and decided to leave. Later, she drove him back to his hotel, as detailed in the book.

In a twist of fate, that same night sparks ignited between the bassist and his now-wife Skye. 

In his own words, he wrote that upon reaching his room, he checked the messages on his mobile device. A voicemail from Skye was waiting, requesting him to return her call.

He phoned her again, and soon enough, our chat shifted from casual small talk to in-depth discussions. We covered a wide range of topics, including where we lived as children, our family backgrounds, our professional journeys, and even our preferred music albums, which he was kind enough to mention.

Reflecting on our conversation, it turned out to be such a lengthy chat that dawn broke, and we both recognized we’d been talking throughout the entire night, as the artist from What’s My Age Again recalled.

Since 2000, I’ve had the privilege of being married to my lovely wife, Skye, while Melissa exchanged vows with her husband, also named Mark, in 2003.

In other parts of the book, set for release on April 8, Mark delves into the effects of his parents’ separation, his struggle against cancer, and discovering a passion for music.
