Melanie and Antonio first began their relationship in 1996 during filming of their movie Two Much.
Later, Melanie appeared in the film that marked her husband’s debut as a director, “Crazy In Alabama,” released in 1999. This was also the initial acting role for Stella on screen.
She filed for divorce from Antonio in June 2014 after 18 years of marriage.

According to records acquired by The Blast, Stella decided to officially drop the surname ‘Griffith’ in the year 2021.
The actress intends to simplify her full name to just Stella Del Carmen Banderas, dropping the additional surname.
She clarified in her paperwork that she usually doesn’t refer to herself as ‘Griffith.’ This is her explanation behind the choice she made.
She added, ‘So, dropping the name would match my regular use.’
As a multicultural individual, having roots in both Spain and the United States, I’ve had a relatively low-key upbringing. Yet, just last week, I found myself walking the red carpet at the esteemed 69th San Sebastian International Film Festival, accompanied by my father, at the grand Kursaal Palace.
It appears that Stella’s decision isn’t connected to her relationship with her mother, who was given a lovely birthday present by both of her daughters.
