Mel Gibson seen for the first time since his $14.5M Malibu mansion burned down in LA fires

Mel Gibson has been spotted for the first time since he lost his home to the LA fires.

I was spotted riding in a friend’s vehicle, maintaining a discreet presence by donning a baseball cap.

69-year-old film actor found his $14.5 million Malibu residence destroyed by fire upon returning home, after having been on location in Austin, Texas, shooting a podcast with Joe Rogan amidst the blazes.

He mentioned during his phone call with NewsNation on Thursday that he felt uneasy throughout our conversation since he was aware his locality was ablaze. This led him to ponder, “I hope my home is still standing,” he added.

Adding: ‘But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.’

On a fateful Friday, I received the heart-wrenching news from my trusted confidant, Alan Nierob, that my beloved sanctuary in Malibu – the place I called home for 14 precious years – had vanished without a trace.

Mel referred to his house as “thoroughly charred,” mentioning that he traveled to Austin, Texas for an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast when the winds were becoming stronger.

Speaking on the Elizabeth Vargas Reports, I shared that this particular issue might seem insignificant to some, but the impact is profoundly emotional for me and many others.

In another way of looking at it, he’s ‘freed himself from the weight of my possessions since they’ve turned to ashes,’ he chuckled.

After returning home, Mel mused aloud, “At least now I won’t have to deal with annoying plumbing issues anymore.” Mel shared this thought with the outlet.

He mentioned there were several spots where absolutely nothing remained, just a chimney and some scattered roof tiles. Walking near these areas was risky due to protruding nails and debris. All vehicles and other items had vanished, as he described it.

He declared that it was utterly charred, a level of burning I have never witnessed before. It seemed as if it had been deliberately torched to obliterate every single part of it.

The actor and the director referred to it as their “favorite place,” mentioning they had many personal belongings stored there, such as photos, clothes, and various other items, which unfortunately they were unable to retrieve.

Although he had suffered a loss, Mel focused on the positive aspect, acknowledging that what matters – his family and loved ones – were safe and in good health. They were away from danger and all were happy.

During the initial windy spells and fire alerts, he found himself conversing with Joe Rogan on his podcast while stationed in Austin. Meanwhile, his partner, Rosalind Ross, was situated in Malibu.

The movie star said he was on a plane when the winds started picking up in LA.

Elizabeth inquired about his current intentions, while the star playfully mentioned that the five-acre plot where the house used to stand was up for sale, should anyone be interested.

The Patriot star criticized California governor Gavin Newsom during his appearance on Joe Rogan.

In our recent discussion, I found myself expressing astonishment over the striking contrast between the annual budget of $24 billion dedicated to addressing homelessness and the funds allocated for wildfire prevention. As a lifestyle expert, it’s clear that we need a more balanced approach to ensure safety and well-being for all members of our society.

‘Zero. zip,’ Mel answered.

In 2019, Newsom expressed his intention as, “I will protect and preserve the forests,” and so on. However, according to Mel, he failed to follow through on those actions.

Mel also spoke to Laura Ingraham on Fox News, where he reflected on the tragedy.

He said to the host, “These items might or might not be interchangeable, but regardless, we’re still around. It feels strange to me, almost like a cleansing process.

When the actor found out about the fires, he said he rushed over to grab a few things with his son.

He revealed that they grabbed their passports and important documents.

The father of nine explained that his son hurriedly picked up approximately three items and left, and fortunately, among them were some essentials such as passports and documents. However, he added with a heavy heart, this situation is truly heartbreaking, causing deep sorrow.

It turned out that there are neighbors whom I observed, and upon doing so, my compassion was more towards their situation rather than mine.

I feel a peculiar blend of sorrow and joy, almost as if they were intertwined. In truth, I find myself being grateful for what I have… I suppose that’s just life.

The devastating fires in LA have led to over 40,000 acres burned and 24 people killed.

As a die-hard fan of safety, I can’t help but share this news that over 150,000 souls, including myself, have been compelled to flee our homes due to the colossal infernos sweeping across our land. The Palisades Fire, in particular, has become an unyielding force, while the Eaton Fire stands as its relentless second. This fire-stricken landscape is a stark reminder of nature’s raw power and the resilience we must show to face it head on.

The AP reported that over 12,000 structures have since burned in fires.

The outlet noted that the burn area is larger than the city of San Francisco.

The LA fires began on Tuesday morning amid strong Santa Ana winds battering the area.

As a lifestyle expert, I must share some heartbreaking news: Several celebrity homes, including those of Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Jeff Bridges, Paris Hilton, Miles Teller, Jhené Aiko, Anthony Hopkins, and many others, have been devastated by the recent fires. It’s a sobering reminder that natural disasters can affect us all.
