Mel B’s new husband Rory McPhee returns to work at his salon in Leeds after the couple’s star-studded wedding – as they prepare to jet off for a second celebration in Morocco

On Wednesday, Rory McPhee, Mel B’s new spouse, resumed work at his hair salon following their glitzy wedding ceremony, which took place during the weekend.

On Saturday, the former Spice Girl, now 50 years old, married her hairstylist partner, who is 37, in St Paul’s Cathedral, London. Following the ceremony, they held a celebration at The Shard.

As I eagerly anticipate my upcoming trip to Morocco with my partner later this month for another joyous occasion, it seems we’ve postponed our immediate honeymoon dreams.

Rory abruptly shut down his Leeds salon well ahead of regular hours, likely eager to devote extra time to his newlywed spouse.

The day began with a ceremony taking place at the famous St. Paul’s Cathedral, where numerous attendees traveled via the sweltering Central line of the London Underground.

Notable personalities invited to the glamorous wedding included Emma Bunton, a fellow Spice Girl of Mel B, as well as comedians like Alan Carr, Katherine Ryan, and Tom Allen.

At the wedding, Cookie, their cherished Yorkshire Terrier puppy, played a crucial part, acting as the ring carrier.

Following the event, people boarded a lively, alcohol-serving party bus that transported them to the opulent Shangri-La hotel located within The Shard.

At exactly 4:30 in the afternoon, the wedding party made their way to the reception venue. However, by 7 pm, most of Mel’s guests had left for home, with several of them having switched to more relaxed attire after approximately two hours of mingling and socializing.

One attendee had expected a grand, high-energy late-night bash filled with typical entertainment industry extravagance for Scary Spice. However, quite unexpectedly, the event turned out to be surprisingly subdued and understated instead.

It seems like she has matured significantly over the past few years and found stability. She’s quite different from how she used to be in the past.

During most of the celebrations, Mel’s kids, Phoenix (age 26) and Angel (age 18), often stayed outside the hotel entrance puffing on homemade cigarettes. In fact, the security team had to relocate them away from the high-end facility to prevent inconveniencing other guests and passersby.

After earlier reports suggested they would host an extravagant “sky party” along with their £28,000 wedding festivities at The Shard, it now appears Mel’s celebrations will be more low-key.

Inside the Shangri-La building, it was anticipated that friends and relatives would dance well into the night, since the bride and groom had promised an unforgettable party, one for the ages.

Yet, even more joyous occasions await the delighted pair, as they plan a second wedding in Morocco, characterized as ‘casual and alluring’.

After just Emma Bunton attended her wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral, she will invite her fellow Spice Girls bandmates for a second opportunity to join her wedding festivities during their second marriage ceremony.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my feelings about the recent nuptials that Mel C, at 51, and Victoria Beckham, also 51, graciously paid tribute to, despite their unfortunate absence. However, it seems Geri Halliwell, thus far, has not publicly acknowledged this star-studded day.

If Geri goes to the North African ceremony that has special meaning for her girl band, she’ll have the opportunity to offer reconciliation to Mel.

In 2015, the Spice Girls gathered for a small reunion during David Beckham’s 40th birthday celebration, which took place in Morocco.

The lively quartet, comprising Sporty, Posh, Baby, and Ginger, exuded high spirits while striking poses at the gathering; however, it was a twist of fate that only Mel B, one of the Spice Girls, was absent from this specific event.
