Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! The Spice Girls… my Spice Girls… they had a little reunion! It wasn’t a full-on concert or anything, but they were all together! Well, almost all. They got together at Victoria’s kitchen – can you imagine?! – and sang ‘Viva Forever’! It just… it broke my heart a little that Mel B wasn’t there, but still! They were together and singing! I’m practically hyperventilating just thinking about it!
Mel B, best known as Scary Spice, wasn’t present because she was enjoying her honeymoon in Mauritius with her husband, Rory McPhee.
She definitely seemed to be sending a message when she posted a new photo on Instagram Monday, wearing a leopard-print outfit that referenced the Spice Girls.
She looked amazing in a sheer, black and leopard-print unitard, completed with matching leopard-print shoes.
Mel B wrote: ‘Trying to figure out if I can fit anymore leopard print in my outfit.’
Oh my gosh, you guys, Emma Bunton – Baby Spice herself – actually commented on the photo! It was just one word, ‘Gorgeous,’ with a little heart, but seriously, that’s all I needed! It’s like she gets it, you know? She truly understands the perfection! I’m still screaming, honestly.
And her hairdresser husband shared some heart eyes in the comments as well.
Victoria Beckham recently reunited with her former Spice Girls bandmates online for a virtual singalong on Instagram. This marks her first public performance with the group since she decided not to participate in their 2019 tour.
Despite ongoing family drama with her son Brooklyn, 51-year-old Victoria Beckham joined her former bandmates at her London home to commemorate the group’s 30th anniversary.
Mel B has hinted at a possible Spice Girls reunion. She recently expressed her enthusiasm for the band getting back together and seemed to acknowledge fan excitement about it by liking a comment discussing the idea.
As the women harmonized, Victoria’s son Cruz, 20, played guitar. His girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 29, was seated at the table, and the family’s chefs observed from the kitchen through glass doors.
Romeo, 23, jokingly commented on a family post, writing ‘Sounds like this has happened before!’ His brother, Cruz, then added, ‘Do they sound like Little Mix?’
As a huge Spice Girls fan, I’ve been so excited by everything Victoria’s been up to lately! She’s definitely been teasing a possible reunion – she recently shared a beautiful acoustic performance of one of their classic songs, and then she got together with Emma Bunton for her 50th, along with Mel C and Geri just last month. It’s really getting my hopes up that something special is happening!
David Beckham, 50, seems to be enjoying the renewed attention around the Spice Girls. He shared a heart emoji in response to his wife’s new video, shortly after news emerged that their son, Brooklyn, has removed tattoos dedicated to his parents, including the word ‘Dad’ from his arm.
The ladies have been teasing the fact that something is in the pipeline for some time.
In November, Mel C discussed her new album, Sweat, on Good Morning America, and was asked about the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion.
Hoping for the best, she said she’s still positive about the future. Next year will be their thirtieth anniversary. They toured in 2019, playing some amazing shows in UK stadiums, which she remembered fondly.
We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved and it’s amazing to see new generations discovering and loving the Spice Girls. I’d really love to perform with the girls again.
We’re exploring potential opportunities, but we’re being very careful. We want to be absolutely sure any new direction is the right fit and that we all agree on it before moving forward.
Oh my gosh, Mel B just said it! She basically confessed she’ll forever dream of another Spice Girls reunion, and this time, she really wants Victoria to be part of it! It’s all I’ve ever wanted, and hearing her say it just… gets me so excited! I need this to happen!
She described being a Spice Girl again as an incredible experience. She felt that because so much time had passed, they were all fully engaged and truly understood how much their group meant to their fans.
It was a truly wonderful experience. We were finally able to relax and savor every moment. It makes me a little emotional just thinking about how much I’d like to do it again.
Mel B hinted at a possible Spice Girls reunion, following Victoria Beckham’s recent chart success with her 2001 song “Not Such An Innocent Girl.” This comes after her son, Brooklyn, made some harsh comments, causing public discussion.
Scary Spice was seen liking a clip about the band getting back together.
In a clip from the podcast ‘Shouldn’t Laugh But…’, host Laura Smyth proposed that Victoria could improve public perception after her son’s controversial statement by reuniting the group.
Mel B’s recent activity sparked excitement among fans, leading many to believe a Spice Girls reunion might finally be happening after years of speculation.
Okay, so I was listening to this podcast, and Laura was giving Victoria some very direct advice. She basically said, and I’m paraphrasing here, that there’s only one path to recovery from this PR mess she’s in. It’s a tough situation, but Laura was firm – there’s a clear way forward, and it’s the only way to fix things.
Just three words: a Spice Girls reunion. It’s going to be huge, and I really want you to be a part of it. But it needs all five members – not just four.
Mel B and Geri are said to have had an ugly falling out which has scuppered new projects.
In 2024, news surfaced that Geri reportedly caused a major television deal to fall through, potentially costing each of the five group members £1 million.
Reports also indicated she cancelled a planned Spice Girls reunion tour and a Netflix documentary celebrating the band’s 30 years.
According to insiders, a major falling out between Geri and Mel B created so much tension within the group that they couldn’t find a manager who could effectively help them get things done and move projects forward.
The conflict started in 2019 when Mel revealed on Piers Morgan’s talk show that she and Geri had a brief romantic relationship during the band’s popular years in the 1990s.
Geri insisted the affair never happened, and Mel was accused of fabricating the story to boost sales of her memoir, Brutally Honest.
The Spice Girls seem to be enjoying their time together. Emma recently posted an old photo from when they were first starting out, following her 50th birthday celebration with the group.
She shared a photo on Instagram that Mel C had originally posted, with Mel C playfully commenting, ‘I wish I still had that Tommy Hilfiger coat! I love my Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton pieces.’
Victoria had previously stated she wouldn’t rejoin the band, emphasizing her commitment to her fashion career and downplaying her time with the Spice Girls as a relatively short period in her life.
She explained to Vogue Germany that it was a difficult decision, but she felt strong enough to decline rejoining the Spice Girls for their 2019 tour.
Simply being able to say, “I’m choosing not to do this because my circumstances have changed,” is powerful.
She explained that she’d prefer to focus on her family and business, saying she’s content with who she is at 45.
Victoria did however confess the idea of a Vegas residency is one that appeals to her.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM last October, she revealed that before joining the Spice Girls, she lacked confidence, but the group helped her believe in herself.
Performing on stage is enjoyable, but I’ve come to realize it’s not what I want to focus on long-term.
She joked that she wasn’t sure she could even sing anymore, admitting she’d never been a particularly strong vocalist. While the idea of performing was appealing, she knew a world tour was out of the question – she has a job to consider.
‘How good would the Spice Girls be at the Sphere? I love the idea of it.’
Victoria Beckham shared in her Netflix documentary that David made her feel pressured into participating in the 2007-2008 Spice Girls reunion tour.
She said: ‘David was like, “It’s really good for the kids to see you do this.” He mum-guilted me!’
I noticed Victoria seemed a little sentimental last November. She shared a really sweet video of her and Cruz doing a simple, acoustic version of Spice Girls’ ‘Viva Forever’ – it was a lovely, personal moment she chose to share.
Victoria’s most recent performance with the band was at the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Before that, she toured the world with them in 2007 and 2008.
Geri left the band in 1998 in the middle of their world tour and on Mel B’s birthday.
In 2018, Mel shared on the show Loose Women that she was deeply hurt and her fellow Spice Girls were also very upset when Geri decided to leave the group.
Honestly, it really stung when my friend decided to leave on my birthday. It wasn’t even so much that she was leaving, though of course that hurt, it was that she didn’t even bother to talk to me about it first. It felt incredibly dismissive, and that’s what really bothered me – the lack of communication. It just felt like she didn’t value our friendship enough to have an honest conversation.
I think of her as my closest friend, and I value all of my friendships deeply. What really upset me was that she didn’t feel comfortable enough to talk to me and share what she was going through. She just shut down and disappeared.
Mel explained that they looked everywhere in the hotel for her, but she wasn’t there. It turned out she had already booked a flight and returned to England.
The group didn’t realize Geri was struggling with a severe eating disorder. Mel explained that she felt trapped and saw no other option but to leave. While understanding her situation, Mel also admitted to feeling frustrated because the show had to be completely reworked as a result.
We couldn’t find her anywhere, and we started to worry something terrible had happened, like a kidnapping. Everyone was really panicked. It turned out she’d unexpectedly flown back to England. After that, we immediately started working as fast as we could to rework the show. I kept trying to reach her by phone the whole time.
Mel explained the band was initially unaware of the actual reason for what happened. She added, ‘We only learned the truth much later.’ She also commented that everyone handles stress and challenging circumstances in their own way, and she personally wouldn’t have acted the same way.
‘So I do understand it but it makes me go, “Oh”, a little bit.’
The former X Factor judge explained that they had resolved their issues over time, recently mentioning, ‘We’ve talked things through over the years.’
I really get why she did what she did. She just felt trapped, like there was no other option. And honestly, the thought of having to go on stage and act like everything was okay when she was clearly struggling… I totally understand not wanting to do that. It makes sense to me, you know?
That friendship was really difficult for me. I even spent my birthday looking for her, feeling incredibly upset.
She continued: ‘In a weird way it made us closer, we got to understand each other more.’
Mel said her and Geri didn’t speak for a while as she was ‘angry and sad’ at her departure.
It felt like weeks passed. Then we continued our tour, and I immediately became upset, quickly followed by deep sadness. Everyone just reacted as best they could in the moment.
Everyone coped with the situation differently. As a group, we really value our close bonds and supporting each other, so it was upsetting to learn that someone felt so overwhelmed they needed to step away.
When asked if she would handle the situation differently today, Mel stated she wouldn’t, explaining that she would still feel very hurt and offended.
When Geri left the band, it made international news, and the group eventually stopped performing for two years.
The Spice Girls became incredibly popular in 1996 with the release of their first hit song, “Wannabe,” which topped the charts in 37 different countries.
The girl group topped the UK charts nine times and released two albums that reached number one. After Geri left, she started a successful solo career, achieving four number-one singles in the UK.
Okay, Spice Girls fans, get excited! As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing some seriously promising signs of a reunion. The latest? They’ve apparently agreed to release a commemorative coin! It’s a small detail, but it definitely feels like they’re laying the groundwork for something big, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a full comeback!
The popular 90s pop group will be celebrated with a special coin created by the Royal Mint, joining legendary British artists like The Rolling Stones, Queen, George Michael, and Shirley Bassey, recent reports say.
