Megyn Kelly Blasts “Smug” George Clooney for Hypocritical Political Rant and Fake Journalism Claims

In a strong, lengthy critique, Megyn Kelly criticized George Clooney for his perceived arrogance and bias, following his criticism of her journalistic work during a recent interview.

Previously this week, Clooney inquired about the journalistic work of Kelly – a previous Fox News anchor and current host of The Megyn Kelly Show on Sirius XM – during his conversation with Patti LuPone for the Variety’s Actors on Actors: Broadway series.

In addition to his Oscar win, the actor appeared to imply that he has made greater contributions as a reporter compared to Kelly, and further emphasized that he had even risked being shot while trying to obtain stories from war-torn regions such as Darfur, where he faced danger to do so.

During the latest episode of her podcast on Wednesday, Kelly didn’t mince words when addressing George Clooney’s comments; instead, she spoke freely in her response.

She labeled Clooney as a ‘timid’ individual, expressing her disapproval of his New York Times article suggesting Joe Biden step down from the 2024 presidential contest against Donald Trump.

In the play, Clooney is portraying Edward R. Murrow, as he, Clooney, feels a strong connection to journalism and holds many opinions about how it should be practiced. This is according to what Kelly said, based on PageSix’s transcript.

He primarily handles the situation by accidentally discovering what could be the most significant news of the decade – a current president showing signs of mental instability, warranting the implementation of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. Kelly didn’t stop there as she quickly turned her focus to Clooney’s Broadway stint.

At present, he’s starring in a theatrical version based on his 2005 movie “Good Night, and Good Luck.” The story revolves around the genuine broadcast journalist, Edward R. Murrow, who was a trailblazer in his field.

It’s possible that Clooney decided to perform on stage because acting opportunities in Hollywood might be becoming scarce as he gets older.

‘He’s now taking center stage on Broadway… By the way, is everything okay with you, George? Are you finding it tougher to land roles in Hollywood as you grow older and seem to be becoming increasingly self-satisfied and boastful? I was just curious.’

In a private chat I had with LuPone for Variety, I candidly shared my progressive political views and the challenges I’ve encountered in the past few years as a result.

‘I don’t care much in terms of what they say,’ he told LuPone.

During their conversation about the ending of the “Good Night, and Good Luck” play, Kelly’s name was mentioned as it appeared in a montage that included actual footage of him along with notable figures such as Donald Trump’s advisor and Elon Musk.

‘We don’t tell people what to think when we show that montage at the end, for instance,’ he said.

Recently, Trump voiced his criticism towards George Clooney, who wrote an opinion piece in The New York Times last year urging Joe Biden to step down as the Democratic presidential candidate.

At one point, Donald Trump commented, “Now, it seems that non-accomplished film actor George Clooney, who has never made a truly remarkable movie, is joining in. He’s distanced himself from Corrupt Joe Biden just as they both are like rats.

Despite Trump’s criticism, Clooney complimented Trump and acknowledged his charm.

George Clooney foresaw that Donald Trump would step down from the public eye when talking about the Republican Party’s future, likening him to other notable political personalities.

Previously, similar situations have occurred, from President Jackson through Joseph McCarthy up until this current figure who exhibits authoritarian and demagogic traits. Historically, once these individuals leave office, the problem tends to disappear. He made it clear that this person will also step down.

George Clooney, who collected around $30 million during a fundraising event last June for Biden’s potential 2024 presidential campaign, is often recognized as a significant factor that contributed to Biden deciding not to seek re-election.

CNN recently asked the Oscar-winner who he thought should lead the Democrats going forward.

He mentioned that there’s a specific individual whom he finds absolutely outstanding. Then, he pointed out Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland, stating that he stands head and shoulders above the others.

I believe he managed the Baltimore tragedy exceptionally well. He has served twice in active duty in Afghanistan and possesses eloquent speech. He is intelligent and demonstrates strong leadership qualities.

He handled the Baltimore tragedy with great grace. Having completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan, his intelligence and communication skills are evident. As a leader, he is highly regarded.

George Clooney is alluding to the tragic incident involving the collapse of Baltimore’s Key Bridge in early 2024, which resulted in the loss of six lives of maintenance workers.

‘I like him a lot, I think he’s someone we could all fall in behind,’ Clooney added.
