Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock’s disturbing new Netflix drama confirms release date with eerie trailer

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve just caught a glimpse of the chilling first trailer for the fresh Netflix series titled “Sirens,” featuring the talented duo, Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock, in the lead roles.

In a simpler, more conversational style: This darkly humorous five-part miniseries focuses on Devon DeWitt, portrayed by Fahy. She finds herself at Cliff House, an expansive mansion belonging to wealthy couple Peter (Kevin Bacon) and Kiki Kell (Julianne Moore), who is also the boss of Simone, Devon’s sister.

United with the equally wealthy Ethan Corbin II (Glenn Howerton), Simone and the other residents find Cliff House to be a piece of heaven on earth. However, Devon isn’t impressed by the extravagant showcase of wealth and has a feeling that something suspicious might be happening involving Kiki.

In my gaming world, as I gaze upon Simone’s fresh preppy style and notice the growing unease at Cliff House, I can’t help but question Simone and Michaela’s tale. My curiosity pushes me to dig deeper, peeling back the polished veneer to uncover what truly lies beneath.

Prior to its launch on May 22nd, Netflix has premiered the initial trailer for the series, showcasing the escalating tension between Devon and Simone, who react differently – one in shock and the other in fascination – towards the Kells.

The series “Sirens” was brought to life by Molly Smith Metzler, who based it on her 2011 play titled “Elemeno Pea.” The main cast often appears in this production, with Bill Camp portraying the role of Devon and Simone’s father.

Fahy, who has acted in shows such as “The White Lotus,” “The Perfect Couple,” and “Drop,” hinted at elements of “Sirens” when she referred to it as a series that explores “the complexities of relationships and people’s attempts to escape their past.

She went on to say, “Simone appears to be fleeing from both her true self and the image she wants others to see. This is evident.” As for Devon, he grew uncomfortable. It wasn’t long before Simone began pointing out Devon’s flaws, such as his poor choices in relationships, self-neglect, and mistreatment of herself.

According to Metzler, who gained recognition for her work on Maid, Michaela and Simone are friends who have a deep bond formed due to shared traumatic experiences. They exhibit signs of co-dependency, yet they both require something significant from one another. The specific needs each character has of the other change dynamically throughout the series.

Sirens premieres on Netflix on 22 May.
