Meghan Trainor is speaking out against negative comments she’s received regarding her recent weight loss, calling the criticism ‘evil’ and defending herself.
The singer, 31, shared in an interview with Extra on Tuesday that she was deeply upset by negative comments online. She previously revealed she lost 60 pounds while using the medication Mounjaro and also had breast augmentation surgery.
The singer explained that she received a lot of hateful comments attacking her personally. She had recently started sharing pictures of herself online, as she always had.
Suddenly, things escalated and people became upset. They started making rude and personal comments, like criticizing someone’s appearance in a harsh way. It was just really unkind.
While the star tried to tell herself that it didn’t ‘affect’ her, Trainor expressed that ‘it did.’
I was really upset and cried a lot. My therapist pointed out that I was letting other people affect me too much, and she regretted that I’d allowed it to happen. Now, I’m trying to learn, even at my age, not to let strangers have that kind of influence over me, but it feels a bit ridiculous.

The performer is continuing to ignore online negativity and has shared that she’s feeling and staying healthy.
I needed to figure out which foods were actually good for my body and helped me digest properly. I used to think I was eating a healthy diet, but I discovered I had leaky gut and IBS, which explained all the problems I was experiencing.
I remember when I was really struggling – I was working out a lot and felt pretty healthy, but I just couldn’t build any muscle. It was so frustrating! I kept thinking, ‘This is completely draining,’ and wondering what was wrong with me.
She also talked about how people she doesn’t know often stop her in public just to make comments about her weight.
Okay, so he didn’t even bother with a proper greeting! No ‘hi,’ no ‘nice to meet you,’ nothing! He just blurted out that he’d seen a video of me and mentioned my weight loss! Seriously? I was completely thrown and had to ask if he even wanted to introduce himself first! It was so rude!
Just a few days before, the singer of ‘Me Too’ responded to criticism she received after recently changing her appearance.
I’ve been hearing more and more about online trolls lately, and honestly, it’s really concerning. A mom of two recently shared with Entertainment Tonight that the negativity is just getting louder and there are simply more of them out there. It’s a tough situation, and it’s definitely something we need to be aware of.
It feels like the world is becoming more chaotic and unkind, and everyone seems to be shouting. I wonder if it’s because things are actually getting worse, or if I’m just more sensitive to it. But I don’t think it’s me.

The celebrity explained that, for the first time since having children, she’s really prioritizing her health, and she’s feeling and looking fantastic. She was surprised and upset that this is when she started receiving criticism, wondering why people would attack her at such a positive time.
I told them I was handling things and asked what they wanted me to do differently. It’s important for me to not let their disapproval bother me, so I need to figure out how to do that.
The performer revealed in March that she had breast augmentation surgery.
I used to really dislike my breasts, honestly. They were uneven and I felt like they were always drooping, which bothered me my whole life. I finally shared this with my followers on Instagram – it felt good to be open about it.
The singer of ‘Made You Look’ revealed she underwent surgery with Motiva, and she chose implants designed to look and feel natural.
My breasts have a fuller, more balanced look that still feels natural. They’re now a matching size and shape, creating a harmonious proportion with my body.
She shared a photo after a medical procedure, revealing a bit of her chest, and expressed her happiness with the results. She explained that after having two children, adopting a healthier lifestyle, and losing weight, she felt great about her choice.
In April, Meghan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, shared that they’ve been using the medication Mounjaro, originally intended for type 2 diabetes, to help them lose weight.

On their podcast, Workin’ On It, actor Daryl Sabara shared that he and his wife completed the 75 Hard challenge after their son Riley was born, and they were very successful.
Trainor mentioned that she started noticing more and more friends – and even her doctors – were using medications like Mounjaro and Ozempic. She ultimately chose to try Mounjaro because it seemed to have fewer side effects.
Daryl shared that he had done it as well, and his wife added that they always do things as a team.
Trainor shared that they are both using a low dose of Mounjaro, and they’re also committed to regular exercise and a healthy diet.
The couple, married since 2018, revealed a simple trick they use to eat less: they serve their meals on smaller plates.
She explained that she’s really into the science behind exercise and muscle growth, emphasizing that you need to eat protein to see results. Otherwise, your workout won’t be effective.
In the podcast, Trainor shared that she feels no embarrassment about using medication to help her lose weight.
The singer shared details about her fitness routine earlier this year, telling Women’s Health she lifts weights and does strength training three times a week.

After having my two wonderful kids, Riley, who’s four, and Barry, who’s two, with my husband, I decided it was time to focus on my health and start a weight loss journey. It felt like the right moment to prioritize myself after everything changed with our growing family.
Things have been really exciting for me lately! I’m putting the finishing touches on my new album, ‘Toy With Me,’ and I’m so thrilled to announce it will be out on April 24th, 2026. I can’t wait for you all to hear it!
The lead single, “Still Don’t Care,” was released on November 12th and its lyrics reveal the singer responding to criticism from online trolls.
The celebrity shared that she’s been keeping a record of things people have said to her, both online and in real life, during a recent interview with Extra.
I was confused and overwhelmed, but I wanted to express those feelings in a powerful song – something that would say, “I don’t need anyone,” and strangely, feeling that way made me feel good about myself.

She also revealed that her family became emotional upon hearing the track.
Earlier this month, Trainor was seen looking noticeably slimmer while filming a music video at The Grove in Los Angeles.
The actress looked stunning on set, wearing a short purple dress with a ruffled bottom that showed off her legs.
The singer put on a pair of platform heels and let her long blonde hair fall in loose waves down her back.
