Meghan Trainor defends using a surrogate to have third child after backlash made her cry ‘every night’

Meghan Trainor faced a lot of criticism after sharing the news that she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their third child with the help of a surrogate mother earlier this year.

The pop singer, 32, said the negative reaction made her cry every night, but she remains confident in her choice to do things differently.

I was so happy to hear that Meghan Trainor had an incredible experience with her surrogate! She’s said it was an instant connection, and she really emphasizes how amazing and strong her surrogate was throughout the whole process. It’s so heartwarming to hear how well they bonded.

Brandy, who recently faced criticism regarding a private online group, shared that she was able to be more available for her baby, Mikey, because her labor didn’t require a C-section. Recovering from a C-section typically involves a few days in the hospital and weeks of recovery at home.

Trainor explained that she immediately worried they would dislike her and her work, thinking, “Oh, they hate me now.”

I cried myself to sleep every night, just filled with worry. I don’t want my daughter to be judged or criticized for how she was conceived. Those thoughts were constantly on my mind, but I was incredibly lucky to have amazing support from my team and my therapist. Everyone was so understanding and helpful.

She added that this approach was the most wholesome, and said critics hadn’t spoiled her enjoyment of her first week with the new baby.

Meghan Trainor recalled her husband saying, ‘Honestly, whenever anyone says something ridiculous, your fans immediately jump to your defense.’

Some fans were upset when Meghan Trainor shared a photo of herself with her new baby while still in her hospital gown. However, Trainor explained that the hospital required her to wear the gown in the picture.

She remembered people questioning why she was doing skin-to-skin contact with the baby, asking if she was trying to pretend she’d given birth. She was surprised by their reaction, thinking they clearly weren’t familiar with standard hospital practices.

When I found out they assumed I used a surrogate, it became clear what their intentions were. Honestly, I stopped caring what they thought at that point.

I’m such a fan of Sarah Trainor! It’s so lovely to see her family growing. She and her husband, Tommy Sabara, who she married in 2018, are parents to two adorable boys: Riley, who’s four, and little Barry, who’s two. I remember reading that while they were thrilled to become parents, using a surrogate wasn’t initially what they had planned, but they’re clearly overjoyed with their beautiful sons.

Meghan Trainor announced her daughter’s birth on social media, explaining that she and her husband had many discussions with their doctors and ultimately felt this was the safest path to expand their family.

We are absolutely thrilled with our new baby girl! Riley and Barry were so excited, they even got to help pick out her middle name. Now, we’re looking forward to enjoying time as a family.

Trainor may have turned off some of her fans, but she had Kelce’s unwavering support.

Jason Kelce’s wife reminded her that choosing to have a family was a deliberate and meaningful decision.
